It'll be really interesting to see what happens with Marquis Daniels because I'm pretty sure the Mavs want to keep him but they have no cap room whatsover.

It's hard to tell on this. From the most recent article in ESPN mag on Kobe, most of the players and coaches hate him. But the GM loves him, and the article even hinted that in his opinion, he'd rather trade Shaq, than get rid of Kobe!

Personally, I think Bryant's gone. The only way he stays is if Jackson is gone, and possibly even Shaq from the article.

Yeah, I read that article too. It will be pretty interesting to see what takes place in the off-season with the Lakers....espcialy if they get bounced out of the playoffs again by the Spurs.

I think we ought to keep Daniels and dump Walker.

Walker is almost surely getting traded, I'd say. I didn't know that he had an option, but he's not going to invoke it because nobody else will pay him $14 million...

Daniels will get the mid-0level, probably from Dallas, because I don't think anyone else will pay him more.

I would too. Shaq's career is almost over, whereas Kobe is just getting into his prime (barring he is not guilty of course)

Yeah...re-sign Kobe, retain Phillip (perferrably under the 8-digit salary he's rumored to be demanding), let Shaq's contract expire if he demands too much money in a couple of years, and sign Yao after he becomes a free agent.

Not to mention it looks like Shaq has lost all his desire to win anymore championships, for the most part.

I totally agree with that statement, and not just because I'm a Kings fan. I've just seen too many Lakers games this season and during the playoffs, where you can totally tell that Shaq has no desire to win anymore.

If I were the Lakers, I would definitely keep Kobe and let Shaq go. Shaq is entering the end of his career, and Kobe is hitting his prime. I think it would be really interesting if Kobe signed with the Clippers, which seems to be a pretty big rumor as of late. I just can't see them forking over that much money for him.

I think Phil Jackson is gone after this year and Kobe stays. I have that ESPN Mag too, but i still think Kobe will stay.

As for the other free agents... I don't see Walker in Dallas next year, although i think it'll be through a trade. I can't imagine Dallas not bringing back Daniels.

If the Pistons get to the Finals, i think Rasheed stays.

ESPN mag is a joke. I really wouldn't consider it an informative source.

It's tough to predict how these things will play out until the playoffs are OVER.
