When will Lefty win another Major...

After Phil Mickelson's win at the Masters do you think he can do it again and if so when?

I think with him ranked 1st in birdies, 9th in putting, and 8th in greens hit this could be the year he finally breaks out big time and wins another major before the year is up.

I could easily see him winning the PGA - heck, he almost did over Toms. I don't ever see him winning a British Open - his game is not suited for it. I don't see him winning the US Open at Shinnecock.

But isn't he changing his game to deal w/ different environments? He's employing a swing coach and a short-game coach, plus he is actually starting to work out.

He hits his irons very high - I just don't see that working in a British Open environment unless he catches a weekend in the Isles where the winds are abnormally calm.

Maybe he is addressing the problem w/ his coaches.

That's the thing - it is not a problem. His ability to loft the ball so high with his irons is what makes him so good. I think it would be a mistake to tinker with it for one tournament a year.

I agree his iron play has always been a + in his game. I hadnt thought about the wind at the British Open but you are right... No grand slam for Lefty... lol.

I was just thinking that maybe he is learning how to alter his stroke when/if the situation calls for it - not all of the time.

The last time the U.S. Open was at Shinnecock Mickelson was right there at the top of the leaderboard.
As fars as the British Open goes....
It's pretty easy to hit a low punch shot that still goes the distance.

As long as Tiger is still banging that hot blonde chick and not paying attention to his golf game, Phil's got a great shot at winning another in the next 3 years.

He'll win at least one more before the end of 2005.

i think it will take awhile.. because he is going to get really hot playing in that green jacket, and its bound to wear him down
and i would think that jacket is pretty restricting, so it might cut his swing down some

I could see him winning the PGA or US this year or next, or even do the Masters again next year, but not the British. He was 2nd in the 1999 US Open at Pinehurst.... whenever they're going back to Pinehurst he may have a decent shot.

Now, a more interesting question would be, when Tiger is going to win his next major?
