I'm a fan, but I definitely say yes. Not sure if it would have been better to try and tank to get in the draft. Didn't matter anyway because they still lost and fell in the playoffs regardless.

I had a chance for free Celtics tickets tonight. But I decided to sit home and stare at the rain coming down.

Perhaps Larry will give them a game or two to help them out.

I bleed green, but it's hard to give a crap when they suck and have no chance.

They may win a game simply because Pierce is a stud who can win a game all by himself.

So true, that's why he's my favorite player. Don't forget that the Celtics beat the Pacers in the post season last year, but unfortunately that was a different team. They really need to get Ricky Davis into the starting lineup as another serious scoring threat in addition to Paul. I'm pulling for the Celts, but I don't see an upset happening this year...

celtics are the reason why, NBA should change the playoff setup. Why represent with garbage like the Celtics, just put another team from the west in.

should be a rule that you MUST have a .500 record to enter into the playoffs.

This is 2004 NOT 1984

Celtics win one and that's it.

And I agree above...how the hell can you get in with less than a .500 record? The Knicks/Celtics are sub.500 and 3 others are .500 or a spit above...(Milw.NOrl.Mia.). 16 out of 29 teams is way too many in my opinion..more than half the league is in the playoffs...

you know what's funny.

boston fans love to beat their chests over how great fans they are because they're so loyal to the red sox.

but the minute the pats, celts, or bruins start sucking up the joint, the entire city jumps off the bandwagon at once.

great fans.

The celts are a different team this year, and the pacers are a far different team than last year. Celts might win 1 at home, so I'm going pacers in 5.

Nobody is on the Celtics or Bruins bandwagon. Nobody gives a shit about them regardless of how they're doing.

And the Patriots have sold out every game for at least 10 years and get huge ratings on tv. Nobody has jumped off any bandwagon. Get a clue.

Yeah, that's why I said "but that was a different (Celtics) team." I wanted Antoine Walker gone for SO long, but what Ainge traded him away for was simply a stupid trade. We're both right that it's a FAR different Celtics team, but the Pacers roster hasn't changed much since last year. Only thing different from them this year is they didn't do their normal collapse after the All-Star break.

so, what you're saying is, that if either team should win a championship this year, that NOBODY in boston would show up for a parade in Scollay Square? ha!

I was exaggerating. There are a few Bruins fans. But if they win the stanley cup, there wont be anywhere near the amount of people that were there for the Patriots. I would say about 5%.

And if the Celtics won, it would be even less. Nobody is hopping on either bandwagon. The overwhelming majority dont care about the Bruins or Celtics.

Even funnier is the bandwagon for the Yankees. Nobody showed up or cared about them during the '80's....I could not even give awesome seats away...sometimes I thought there were more vendors than fans sometimes.
