And like that it's over! Calgary wins!

jovo's penalty does end up biting them in the ass. Calgary looks good. Maybe this years Mighty Ducks?

Damn it.

Good luck to the Flames in the second round. Should be a great series against Detroit.

I agree that the flames could be this years ducks. Kiprusov = guiguere.

Iginla has really broken out in the last few years. Led the league in scoring and won MVP of the league, had some clutch goals in the 2002 olympics and leading Calgary thru the playoffs (2g,1a) tonite

The Leafs are well on their way towards winning. Up 3-0 after the first period.

Well, Ottawa pulled Lalime and put in Prusek, and scored :22 into the period. They have some life.

Muckler should have gotten a good first string goalie before the playoffs. Lalime is a good backup, but not good enough to carry a team to the cup. If everyone else knew that, why didn't Muckler?

I think there were a lot of rumors around the trade deadline about Ottawa getting a goalie, but Muckler came out and said that Lalime will be the playoff goalie. But that's a good question, Muckler should have realized that the Sens will go as far as Lalime takes them. I'd be surprised if this isn't the end of Lalime and Jacques Martin in Ottawa. The Senators have lost 4 of the last 5 years to Toronto in the playoffs, and Lalime and Martin aren't getting it done.

I don't think it's fair to put this all on Lalime. True, he wasn't stellar, but can anyone honestly say that this is the same Senators team that flat out dominated at times in the regular season?

The senators went into some sort of shell in the playoffs. All but Chara and a few other players seemed tenative at best, and they just didn't go all out, which cost them their season. They didn't use their speed, they didn't use thier crisp passing, and they dumped the puck far far too often. They got sucked into the Leafs game and got beat. That's not to take anything away from Toronto, because they put it together and played hard when they lost their leaders. Credit Ronnie Francis, Joe Nieuwendyk, and Brian Leetch BIG TIME with that series.

Plus, not dressing Spezza, regardless of his issues with Martin's dictatorship, is just plain stupid when you're hurting for goals as is. They should have known that Bondra was going to disappear too, as he's a former Capital, ie. the team of chokes. Capitals disappear in the playoffs.

I have an issue with this equation. Kiprusoff was always better than Giguere and always will be. He was just buried in the San Jose Goalie farm...he's way more fundamentally sound than JS and he's not a head case...
