MLB Opening Night Thread!!

Ok, Tonight MLB offically starts (ok, I know there were a couple games played in Japan, but baseball at 5AM doesn't count in my book).

Tonight it's Pedro vs Ponson. Boston vs The O's at Camden Yards.

Let's get it on.

The press here in Boston has been all over Pedro's poor spring training, but the way I see it, Pedro was saving himself for the season. I guess we will find out at 8 PM tonight.

Who will be watching?

Just as the press here in AZ is all over Johnson for his poor spring. It's typical of him. He's always piss poor in spring, but knows how to turn it on during the season.

for the season starting. Can't wait to watch the game tonight.

I am a big Oriole fan -there starting line-up looks good-starting pitching is somewhat a question mark-there bullpen should be alright but there bench is lacking(Cust and Luis Lopez????).

Off to the Padres-Mariners exhibition game at Petco. Conventional wisdom says it'll be a pitchers park, especially at night, but they were launching the bombs last night: Winn, Ka-Boone, Giles, Loretta, and Klesko.

See ya' in 7 hours for first pitch!

It's rather chilly and windy here. Once the game starts tonight I expect conditions will be even worse. April baseball can be crazy, you never know what type of weather you'll get.

Yeah, the wind has really been whipping around today. It will be interesting to see which way it is blowing at the Yard tonight.

At least it isn't in the 30s and snowing like it was last year.

At least not yet anyway. They are expecting temperatures to be in the 30's and a chance of some flurries during the game.

Spring training is (for the most part) pretty meaningless. A pretty good indicator is that Abraham lead all players with 11 homers during Spring Training.

With that said, this should be a good opening game. Pedro vs. Pontoon.

How come there's no MLB Prediction thread? Or did I completely overlook it?

Let's see, I've got Tejada on one team and Pedro on another. Let's get the win Pedro, and allow Tejada to hit 3 HRs!

Yeah, really long hair and a beard.

Pontoon looking nice so far. Only allowed a base hit to Manny.
