Excellent thread

Can you believe that you can't buy his jersey yet? What's up with that? He's like the most popular player on the Warriors these days.

Yao on Earl

MYSTERY GUEST: Houston's 7-foot-5-inch Yao Ming, on 5-5 Warriors guard Earl Boykins: "When I looked down, I couldn't see him. He almost stole the ball from me. At the time, I thought he was someone from the audience."

Actually, he was really boring. They just asked about what's it's like to be short in the NBA and how Muggsy Bogues and Spudd Webb opened the door to the NBA for short guys.

An interesting part was when they had him stand next to John Salley to show how tall he was compared to your average NBA guy although I guess you can't really call Salley that. Earl was about at Salley's thigh level. And he was even taller than Earl when he was kneeling down.

Oh, actually, another interesting thing, he said that he can bench 3 times his body weight. Pretty impressive.

One of the big problems that short players have in the NBA is that they're expected to pass 90% of the time. Thus, defenses over-play the passing lanes and lots of stolen passes result. I saw this happen a couple of times last night to Earl.

Other than that though, this guy is exciting to watch.

I can't believe he didn't make it to the all-star team over Vince Carter! What? They play on seperate coasts? Man that's just a technicality!

He's 130-135lbs, and benches around 300. I know people who can do that; not that surprising.

Go Warriors!

btw... out of 3 meetings with the Lakers this year, Warriors have won 2 and lost 1 in OT.

135 X 3 = 405. 300 is closer to twice your weight. Whats so great about benching 300? Im 145 and bench 300. Im no professional athlete. And I dont go around saying I can bench three times my weight.
