Denver Bronco fans! AFC Playoff hopes:

Ok, sitting here at work I think I figured out the scenario that would send Denver to the playoffs. It may not be the *only* way, but I think it is...

TB over PITT (tonight)

Next week:

Miami over NE
GB over NYJ
ATL over CLE
BALT over PITT
Jack over IND
DEN over AZ
Raiders over KC
Seattle over SD

that would leave OAK, PITT, TENN and MIA as conference champions... with Denver and IND as the wildcards....

not too much to ask for, right?!?!?!

What would really be funny is it all those things happened except Denver winning. Denver will be paying more attention to the scoreboard rather than their own game.

A Christmas carol from me to all of you...

God rest you merry, Broncosfans
Let nothing you dismay,
Remember backup Steve Beuerlein
Will win again Sunday,
To save us all from Griese's arm
That likes to throw astray;
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

From God our heavenly Father
A blessed schedule came.
We get to play the Cardinals
Who cannot win a game
To the Superbowl a wildcard
Years past we've done the same

O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

In San Diego we will meet
The Eagles or the Bucs
The Raiderss will be staying home
Those sorry little *****s
What should I wear after the win
A suit, perhaps a Tux?

O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy.

So I guess I will be a Dolphin, Packers, Falcons, Ravens, Jaguars, Raiders, and Seahawks fan for a week? I can do that, but not the Raiders. Pleas, not the Raiders.

And, I think you meant Pitt over Baltimore, right?

Does all that have to happen for the Chargers to make the playoffs?

If so, then ugh.

After this season, I'm giving up on the Broncos...

Go Nuggets.

San Diego Chargers -- Can clinch playoff spot:

1) Win AND Denver loss or tie AND Kansas City loss or tie AND New England loss or tie AND N.Y. Jets loss or tie AND Cleveland loss or tie
2) Win AND Denver loss or tie AND Kansas City loss or tie AND Miami loss AND N.Y. Jets win AND Cleveland loss or tie
3) Tie AND Denver loss AND Kansas City loss AND New England loss AND N.Y. Jets loss AND Cleveland loss

It's better than the Ravens' playoff hopes, which would require them to win and the entire AFC (sans Miami, who would have to beat NE) to lose.

I'm personally partial to my Dolphins' hopes of winning HFA (which I think is win + PIT loss + TEN loss + OAK loss + Miami wins strength-of-schedule tiebreaker)

Ok, Denver's chances aren't as bad as I originally thought...

* Broncos beat Cardinals, Browns lose to or tie Falcons, Patriots lose to Dolphins, Jets lose to or tie Packers.

* Broncos beat Cardinals, Browns lose to or tie Falcons, Dolphins lose to Patriots, Jets beat Packers.

* Broncos tie Cardinals, Patriots lose to or tie Dolphins, Jets lose to Packers, Browns lose to Steelers, Chiefs lose to or tie Raiders, Chargers lose to Seahawks

They could be the Ravens. The Ravens need to win and have every 8-7 AFC team to lose to clinch a birth.
