Did the Angels marketing dept take a trip to Japan and catch a game over there. Those things are so damn annoying. It is quite possibly worse than the wave at a baseball game.

I like Kornheiser's suggestion. If fans are going to use those things, they should have to hit themselves in the head with them.

that reminds me of when I went to the giants game during the last week of the season.. there was a high school group (about 50 or so) with recycled banners that had Tejada for MVP on the back... they tried to start the wave 2 or 3 times, when everyone booed them, telling them to stop.. one guy standing in the arcade yelled rather loudly to them to ... "STOP THAT F*IN CRAP! AND GO BACK TO OAKLAND WHERE YOU BELONG" Everyone cheared... I heard it from 2 sections away so I know they heard it too.. Mean, but funny.

All of us fundamentalist baseball lovers hate crap like the wave, thundersticks, or any other sort of marketing gimmick to get people interested in baseball (cough cough rally monkey).

I agree with you regarding Thunderstix, but actually, I like the rally rags they gave away at a couple playoff games this year...

Memo to self: Giants fans are f***ers. The real battle is which crowd will out-thunderstick the other. Do those things seem natural to anybody?? One thing's for sure: I will be watching the World Series on mute.

1. Rally Monkeys are stupid. And $15. Oh, scratch that...they are now $25.
2. Thundersticks were used by several teams. They are also stupid, but at least they are FREE.
3. Once again, rally monkeys are STUPID.

BTW, when we are in Anaheim and they put the damn_monkey on the board jumping, we insert a "Bzzzzzztt" sound effect, ala "Shock the monkey", i.e. they have teh little ****tard on a hot plate to get him to jump.
Did I mention that the Rally Monkey thing is STUPID???
OH, and what happened to the "No Wave" sign they used to put up on the Jumbo Tron at teh Coliseum???

Rallyrags don't bother me so much. Probably because the Twins fans introduced them to baseball. Considering that they play in a big hefty bag, I can't fault them for introducing them.

If you banged the Panozzo brothers together during the game, would they be called Thunder Styx?

Someone needs to photoshop the rally monkey pic with a sign that says "Behold the power of bandwagon fans!"

I have never had a problem with the thundersticks. Anything that gets fans excited for a game is great. Thundersticks definitely outrank that ridiculous and racist tomahawk chop that the moronic braves fans chant CONTINOUSLY!!

Wait a second, you think they are as bad as the wave?! The wave might be the best thing in a baseball game.

atleast baseball doesn't have car flags for fans to put on the car.

The easiest way to tell Anaheim from Japan is in Japan they have the Rally Lizard....

I don't have any problem with the fans in CA trying to meet the hype of the Twins fans and all their hellish noise.

People always bash OC fans for being so laid back and now that they have a team to be really excited about they should just mellow out?

I think they're cool. Anything to make noise is fun. Cowbells, slamming the chairs, etc

Now I know how all the yankees fans felt like when they were winning their championships. So you guys go ahead and bash the rally monkey. I for one like it. Something like that that gets the crowd fired up to get the team pumped up to win a game is great.

A rally monkey shouldn't be needed to get the crowd fired up.

The fact that their team is on a major stage to win a national championship should be motivation enough as it is.
