What's the reason for the title???

I've played it completely through and can't find any reference to "Onimusha". Anybody know what the title means?

It's actually supposed to read "Ominous Ha" to kind of denote the deep rumbling laughter associated with the various demons inhabiting the game. There is a linguistic filter when it comes to "borrowed" words, though, so kids in the States get a little confused sometimes. It literally means "Scary Laughing"!

Doesn't Oni mean "Devil" and Musha mean "warrior"? Thus "Devil Warrior", which makes perfect sense in the game.

Actually you are wrong. When they were asking what they should name the game someone sneazed on accident. Thus the title was created.

Actually Onimusha means "Ghost Warriors" in Japanese. The actual U.S. title is "Onimusha Warriors", which is redundant, like "Panini Sandwich", but these things get lost in translation, I guess.

Actually "Oni" means one, and "musha" refers to mushy rice, so the main character has eaten one to many bowls of his wife's mushy rice, and he finally snaps, running through the land hacking things to death. So really he's the bad guy. See what marriage can do?

hmm. Okay, Devil Warrior makes sense. Ghost Warrior too. Mushy rice seems to be a stretch. But thanks for the info.
