Foo Fighters - Your Favorite Toy - 4/24/26

Another great album IMO. I've had it playing non-stop for the last 24 hours. Very excited to hear some of the songs live when I see them again this Summer. The Foo's are one of the few bands these days who never disappoint me.

I am not crazy about the first songs, but it gets quite good after that.

Assume you meant the first songs that came out before the album? I liked them a lot, but didn't consider them the best of the Foos by any means. But think they work best when playing the album from start to finish. It amazes me when bands of a certain again can continue to release such strong work. So many lose their creative mojo after a few years.

I'm pretty meh on it after a couple of listens. Maybe it will grow on me. I don't mind the loudness and noise but it's seem lacking in...something. It sounds tinny and the vocals and production sound off. It's like they have gone back in time (which isn't a bad thing) but don't remember what they learned on the way with the recording. I will say the live performances from SNL UK do sound much better to me than the album recordings. I'm going to DC to see them in August so will see if that holds.

No, first four songs on the actual album.

I'm disappointed by the album, it isn't bad by any means, but not great either and I expected something great. There is not one song, I dislike and whle playing the album it's perfectly fine as background noise, but the only song that really spoke to me is Child Actor. Everytime I listen to the album, that's the song that makes me pause and really listen.

I forgot to preorder the vinyl, making it the only Foo I don't own in that format. After streaming it, I'm pretty content with that.

Maybe I'll pick it up if I stumble across it on the cheap, but I'm in no great rush to do so.
