I have not been able to become a fan of the animated Filoni-verse . . . but, damn the animation has improved.

Looks good! One of these days I’d like to revisit the animated Star Wars shows again.

Somehow, Maul got cut in half but returned. Always a horribly under-used character that just looked damned cool.

He was used quite a bit in the animated Clone Wars and Rebels series.

Lightsabers cauterize as they pass through… and maybe all of the vital organs in Zabraks are above that line. Besides who knows what Sith or Dathamirian voodoo was used to keep him together on Lotho Minor.

(Yeah, I’m a nerd.)

I kind of like the idea of Sith witches keeping him alive.

The Star Wars Universe also has particularly advanced cybernetics, so they could probably keep him alive by replacing any vital systems/organs with machine parts.

Did they ever show how Maul survived getting split in half and falling thousands of feet down the reactor? I never watched Clone Wars or Rebels or wherever else here appeared in. Did he just spontaneously reappear without an explanation?

For a quick description of how Maul survived, watch this:

He was, but I think we all were hoping for him to have survived through the prequels until the end. Same for QuiGon.

Sabers do, except for that poor guys arm in the Cantina in a hew hope. A bloody mess. .

I just hate non deaths in movies and Star Wars has unfortunately done it too much for my liking. Somehow…. .

Yeah cauterizing was always a BS excuse given the first time we ever see a saber in action it clear that's not the case. It's a plot device when it needs to be to justify bringing back dead characters to sell toys.

I think you’re onto something here. Sabers become useless weapons if they inflict non-critical wounds that heal themselves.

. . . and then the second time the victim mysteriously completely vaporizes with no burns to their clothes.

It's safe to say there is not really a finite line of logic with the way Jedi powers or weapons work.

Again, onto something here, lol. I know it’s hard for creators to explain every little detail about powers, weapons, etc., but in even some of my favorite all time movies there are a few too many "well damn, that’s convenient" powers that show up out of nowhere. I think they’re called plot contrivances.

Didn't they insert the shot of Walrus Man's bloody, severed arm into the movie to give it a PG-rating because it initially got a G-rating? So cauterizing the wounds might have been the intent all along.

But I suspect they pushed the cauterization thing because they didn't want to have blood spraying everywhere when Luke got his hand sliced off when ESB came around.
