This is Nikki's first time on the show and I don't know who the heck sombr is... but Kenan had already been on SNL for a few years when he was born.

I read the Times piece about Colin and Pete's Ferry and boy does it sound like a huge money pit. Dockage and towing costs, insurance, environmental regulations, lawyers, asbestos removal, cockroaches. Even selling for scrap would be a loss because the market is weak.

Well, everyone that complains about the game show sketches and restaurant sketches and recurring bits should be really happy with this one.

I watched it last night, it was better than the past ones so far this season. Thought Nikki's monologue was really good (but admittedly I'm already a fan), a couple times I was thinking "Wait, you can say that on network television now?"

Nikki is funny. The show wasn't. The musical act was dreadful. I had to put some Zeppelin and Sabbath on to refresh my hearing after that first song. Skipped the second song, even his clothes, hair and stage movements seemed like he got them from some musician costume store.

Some people felt uncomfortable with the monologue and pedophilia comments.

Louis CK did something similar which was kind of cringe though funny.

A comic could make jokes about oatmeal and Gunsmoke, and there would be people to complain about it.

Fun fact: Sombr and the music guest next week, Olivia Dean, were just nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy.

No interest in Gen Z Lurch, but I think I will like Olivia Dean based on the one video I have seen of her.

I found the article after reading your post.

I've heard a all of the jokes from Jost about buying the ferry, but didn't know all of the details.

Sounds like "rich people problems." Hey, this thing that we remember from our childhood is going up for sale! Let's buy it and turn into a party boat with bars, restaurants, concert venues, shops, and all kinds of fun stuff!

So, with more money than sense, they buy it on a lark without doing any research, and are stuck with this white elephant that costs them tens of thousands dollars to just to sit at a dock or tow around. And, on top of that, it's going to cost an astronomical amount of money just to get it cleaned up, and up and running before they can realize their dreams of a big party boat.

Maybe Scarlett will be back on the market before too long...

If it costs Jost a million dollars a year just to keep the monstrosity sitting at a dock. It will take him 20 years to burn through what Scarlett can make for one movie.

But with access to that kid of cash, I would think they would already have Titanic II up and running.

I have not read the NY Times article, but I would surmise that as two boys who grew up on Staten Island, they rode the ferry a lot, and so they had a sentimental attachment to the idea of owning it. And as two comedians by profession, they probably had a juvenile expectation of what they could do with it. And yeah, with Jost's family money, they could fix it up to be whatever they want, but I hope Colin is a little more cautious about spending the money his wife makes. Plus, do they really want to be running some kind of party boat business (or whatever they thought they would do with it). It's like guys who hang out in a bar thinking, "we should OWN a bar." So now, they are standing in the harsh light of day, and I expect they just want to get rid of it, but how?

Maybe they could just use it for its original purpose and make some money back from the ticket sales, oh wait....

I was surprised Ozzy did perform on SNL in 1983

Crazy Train and Suicide Solution

I don't know if it is available to watch somewhere online.

Ozzy did NOT perform on SNL, it was canceled when he showed up late.

He would have killed as a host and they could have got him during the peak of the Osbournes on MTV in the early aughts.

Yes, Ozzy Osbourne shuffling around aimlessly and mumbling incoherently would have been great as host.

Coked-up 70s/80s Ozzy would have fit right in on SNL.

He was a very silly character who would not have worked well on live tv on a scripted show.
