For some reason, I thought they were taking this week off too. A day late isn't too late for some Halloween themed comedy.

How about a sketch where poor people losing SNAP assistance go trick or treating but for real food not candy?

Also, they are 100% giving the featured cast members more early visibility than they did in the past.

Thanks for our weekly reminder that whatever we may get from SNL, it could have been much worse.

We'll ge the best/worst of both worlds and get a trick-or-treat sketch in the cold open that is interrupted by Trump and he'll mock the trick-or-treaters by eluding to the shutdown.

We should be in the writer's room.

Could the sketch possibly end with a reveal that it's an ad for an unrelated item or location? May I suggest Dude Wipes?

The non sequitur product placements at the end of sketches have made the show so much better,

How about a sketch where a married couple are celebrating something, and then it turns out she cheated on him, and the guy shows up, and everyone sings about it?

Miles Teller has been in some interesting movies and the Offer but not really a good actor.

I actually like when they do it more often than not but if you're going to make fun of the writing / format of SNL sketches it's low hanging fruit.

Whiplash

Maybe he was not able to keep up with JK Simmons, but he was very good in that, imo.

I like Two Night Stand and The Spectacular Now.

They should do a sketch where trump and all of his billionaire friends are holding a Great Gatsby-themed party at Mar-a-Lago while American people have lost their jobs and their benefits. They would be hilarious!

None of the regular cast members could play Curtis Sliwa? I mean, who was begging for a Shane Gillis cameo?

I thought it might have been Gillis, but I thought it might have been the real Curtis Sliwa, too...

I thought I was the only one who knew about Two Night Stand.

I remember once almost bringing it up in a discussion about Miles Teller being unlikeable because I liked the film so much, till I remembered being very disappointed that Annaleigh Tipton's character ends up with Teller's at the end of the movie.

I thought the whole show was mediocre, not bad or good. I thought the two filmed pieces were the best parts. Good acting from Ashley Padilla on WU, but the bit wasn't funny. WU went on a long time with two long desk pieces. Looked like Sarah Sherman took the night off.

"Two Night Stand" was a good film. I thought his best performance though was in "Rabbit Hole".

The time stamp on that sketch being relevant is less than 72 hours, so they need to do something to generate views in a hurry, and guest stars do that.

Doing a home makeover show parody on the Trump ballroom fiasco might have been low hanging fruit, but they had to do it. It wasn't exceptional, but it got the job done.

I see it was Ramy Youseff as Mamdani in the cold open. With Mamdani in the election for NYC mayor and likely to win, it's too bad they don't have a Muslim cast member. I mean, they certainly wouldn't be so stupid as to fire one right before the season started...

I thought the NYC Mayor's Debate was hilarious. Don't really care for Shane Gillis but his Curtis Sliwa was great.
Liked the little in-jokes for people who live in the city. Hasn't everyone who ever rode the subway at night been ejaculated on?

The Trump Property Bros sketch was fun too. But then you remember all the funny things are actually happening in real life and then its just sad.
