Bad Bunny to headline Super Bowl LX halftime show
Bad Bunny will bring his Latin trap and reggaeton swagger to the NFL's biggest stage next year: The Grammy winner will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show in Northern California.
The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Sunday that Bad Bunny will lead the halftime festivities from Levi's Stadium on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California. The Puerto Rican superstar's selection comes amid another career-defining run. He's fresh off a historic Puerto Rico residency this month that drew more than half a million fans and is leading all nominees at the Latin Grammys in November.
Bad Bunny will host "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 4.
"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself," Bad Bunny said in a statement. "It's for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown... this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL."
Roc Nation founder Jay-Z said in a statement that what Bad Bunny has "done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage."
The 31-year-old artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio has won three Grammys and 12 Latin Grammys. He has become a global ambassador for Latin music, starred in films such as "Bullet Train," "Caught Stealing" and "Happy Gilmore 2," and collaborated with top fashion houses. He'll enter the Latin Grammys as the leading nominee with 12, dethroning producer and songwriter Édgar Barrera.

Can't wait. The only show he's doing in the US for his current tour. Should be excellent.

Too bad it was not Metallica.
It is crazy the NFL with their deep pockets of cash which grow annually will not pay the artists for the halftime shows.
Maybe not a shock since they don't want to pay for grass in all the stadiums and they ignore the retired players with health problems.
I predict on Mon Feb 9, 2026 this will be another wedge issue and people will be mad and miss the old days when the songs were in English.

Metallica is one of the more Iconic bands that still has not done the show and they still have a big global following.
Too bad Ozzy Osbourne or the original Van Halen lineup with DLR never got a chance to do it.

Hetfield said after Super Bowl 50 that (something to the effect of) the halftime show is more about spectacle than music and they are not suited for that.

Interesting choice, not someone I would have thought of for the gig, but he is popular...

Not only is he popular, but he's popular internationally. The NFL has been very clear in their intentions to increase the NFL's popularity in Mexico and in South America. This can only help.

I know it's a joke, but "win back?" NFL is the official sport of MAGA.

Pyro and large screens are a long way from having 100 plus dancers, 10 unicorns and a river of Skittles flowing behind you as you lip sync to prerecorded music.

But they said they stopped watching when Kaepernick took the knee.
I assume UFC is now the official MAGA sport.
Too bad Axl Rose can't sing anymore and no G&R halftime show though they might be more popular in Asia than in the U.S.

Maybe do a compromise and get Ricky Martin?
He can still put on a show though maybe he is past his 1999 and early 2000's peak of fame but that did not stop the NFL from hiring Usher two years ago.

Compromise by replacing the most popular male artist in music with one who hasn't had a hit in 20 years? And Compromise with whom, exactly?

I think Bad Bunny's music is total trash, but he sells for some stupid reason. So financially speaking it's not a dumb move by the NFL.
I didn't even know Ricky Martin was still alive. Looked up his info and apparently he's still a thing in Latin markets, but has little interest anywhere else.
Like past half-time shows - I'll avoid watching this one as well.

I want to see Ghost do a Super Bowl Half Time show. "Dance Macabre," "He Is," and "Mary on a Cross." Throw in a couple of special guests like King Diamond or Dani Filth. Have a wet t-shirt baptism during "He Is" like in the video.
Let's see some heads explode.

Re: Bad Bunny to headline Super Bowl LX halftime show
Most of them don’t understand that the halftime show isn’t about them. The NFL doesn’t see it as entertainment. They see it as a marketing opportunity. The NFL already has the people
complaining in the bag. They don’t have the balls to give it up. The halftime show is about bringing new viewers. They have all but locked up the white and black male audience. Percentage wise I don’t think there is a path to expand there. The Roc Nation produced shows were to attract parents so they continue to let their kids play football in the days of CTE. Swift has helped with young females but I think that’s temporary even if she performs in the future. The older white female demo they have is locked and has nowhere to expand. The next largest domestic demo to target is Latinos who prefer soccer to football. The added benefit is that they can also target that market internationally. If and when the NFL conquers that market they will move on to East Asia and then to Southeast Asia. Think KPop and Bollywood in the distant future. They are trying to expand reach in Europe too but it’s more of a yearly curiosity for the Continent (and the UK) than a viable market currently.
