Weapons (2025, W/D: Cregger) S: Brolin, Garner, Ehrenreich, Abrams

From New Line Cinema and Zach Cregger, the wholly original mind behind Barbarian, comes a new
horror/thriller: Weapons.
When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the
same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.
The film stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, with
Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.
Cregger directs from his own screenplay, and also produces alongside Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D.
Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin executive producing. The
filmmaker’s creative team behind the camera includes director of photography Larkin Seiple, production
designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy and costume designer Trish Sommerville. The music is by
Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay and Zach Cregger.
New Line Cinema Presents a Subconscious/Vertigo Entertainment/Boulderlight Pictures
Production, a Zach Cregger Film, Weapons. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and released in
theaters and IMAX nationwide on August 8, 2025, and internationally beginning in August 2025.

Nice to see the horror renaissance we've been experiencing for the past year continue.

Now that's how you cut a trailer. Looking at you "Drop". Which literally showed the entire movie.

agreed. that trailer makes me interested in the movie without giving away 98% of the plot. The most exciting part of Drop was when you finally got past all the scenes from the trailer and got to be surprised.

Looking forward to this.
In a parallel universe, I'm hoping the success of this film will encourage Disney/Searchlight to release a physical version of Barbarian (2022).

I was trying to avoid all of them, the poster was enough for me.
One played before Fantastic Four (??), and I tried not to pay attention to it.
I used to love trailers. Hollywood lost that trust, so now I try to avoid them if I already know I am going to see the movie.

Yup. Classroom of kids go missing. That’s all I want to know. I don’t trust marketing to not ruin it.
I was a big fan of Whitest Kids and like seeing Cregger make two unexpecting horror movies.

GO SEE THIS!
I'll re-post some of my non-spoiler comments from the spoiler thread:
Be prepared to be constantly asking WTF. Do not be afraid to laugh when you need to laugh; my viewing of this was like my viewing of Eddington, where different people were laughing in different places, but nobody was sure if they should be.
Yes, there is room for improvement as there are some threads that are left unpulled/dangling, but this was crazy fun. I've been really critical of most of the movies I have seen in theaters this summer, so I will say this script might be a little messy, but it certainly is NOT lazy.
June Diane Raphael just keeps getting hotter and hotter every time I see her in something.
