The Harvey Keitel Appreciation Thread.

I think he is incredible in every movie he makes. I remember him from Mean Streets. Now, he makes rare appearances which is too bad because he is so good in every role he does. I think he gets overshadowed by some of the other powerhouses: De Niro, Pacino, but he is just as good and I just love everything he’s in. This comes from enjoying the perfect Pulp Fiction.

IMDB credits him with three films and six TV episodes in 2024 alone and "8 upcoming." Pretty good for a man who turns 86 on his next birthday!

True. I still think he is underrated and does get overshadowed by others in his class, which is master.

Who has the rights to Fingers?
I was always a fan but even if you like him we did not need to see everything in the Piano.

Although I enjoy Kubrick’s films I appreciate Keitel telling him to fuck off because he felt disrespected while filming Eyes Wide Shut.

Reservoir Dogs is one of my favorite movies. You’d be hard pressed to find a cooler character in films than Mr. White.

He has been in a lot of really good movies over the last decades. Reservoir Dogs, Smoke, Clockers, From Dusk Till Dawn, Cop Land and City of Industry are my favorite Keitel movies with him in the lead or a big supporting role. Even a movie like U-571, which is nothing special, gets elevated by him.

His signature performance. And a hell of an acid trip odyssey through early 90s NYC. One of the best films of the 90s.
