Feels like Mortal Kombat DLC

That poster looks... lots going on there.

But I think Viola Davis as an action hero sounds pretty damn cool.
I didn't see Woman King because... I don't know, something just felt off in the trailer.

Part London is Falling/part Air Force One/part Woman King .. I do like the explanation to keep her out of running in heels

Is anybody else always singing "Little GTO" to themselves when they see this title?

Looks and sounds like it should be a spoof film.

In the 90’s, this would’ve starred Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Though known for her devastating performances in “Fences” — for which she won an Academy Award — and 2011’s “The Help,” Viola Davis knows that longevity in the acting profession means mixing it up from time to time. That’s why for her most recent outing in “G20,” she decided to kick some ass. As a deadly American President taking on a group of terrorists who’ve laid siege to a summit of world leaders, Davis is embracing her Liam Neeson “Taken”-era, largely, she said in a recent interview with The Times of London, due to her need to have some fun.

“Training, speech, technique, critics — there’s a sense of torture that you almost have to make peace with,” she said of her career in acting. “But internally you’re always trying to get back to the fun.”

And while she may be recognized as a Juilliard-trained talent with EGOT status, Davis doesn’t think that should hold her back from doing projects that might be considered more popcorn-fare than awards-worthy.

“I don’t think every movie you do has to be considered for an Academy Award,” Davis told The Times. “I wanted to do something that families could watch together, something popular.”

I'll watch. I hope this is good in its own way. After seeing the poster it's exactly what I expected.

“This movie is awesome but why does the American President have a thick Flemish accent?”

The Woman King was amazing. I never thought it would be, but it took me completely by surprise and I loved it and Davis was the reason.

I just saw this promoted on my Fire TV home page and I thought, "G20? That's the name of that international summit. I wonder what this G20 is about."

It never crossed my mind that this title really was the G20 economic meeting for world leaders!

Yeah, this movie looks absolutely ridiculous for a lot of reasons. Viola Davis as a badass is not one of them.

Watched it this afternoon and it was pretty fun. Similar tone to White House Down. Some fun kills and one funny moment that literally made me laugh out loud (hint: it involves the South Korean prime minister's wife). And there are two side characters I want to watch a whole movie about:

Spoiler:

The South African operatives who join in about halfway through

If you're looking for a drinking game, don't drink every time someone says G20. You'll have to have your stomach pumped after 15 minutes.
