RIP Kim Simmonds 1947-2022
Just found out about this. If you're wondering, who the hell is Kim Simmonds? He was a guitarist who founded the rock band Savoy Brown in 1965. He was lead guitarist and only constant member for 57 years until he died. The band's revolving door of members includes Bill Buford who went on as drummer for Yes and King Crimson. By 1970, Savoy Brown was a four man band with Simmonds (lead guitar), Lonesome Dave Peverett (vocals, guitar), Tony Stevens (bass) and Roger Earl (drums). They put out the album Lookin' In. Peverett, Stevens and Earl left and formed Foghat with Rod Price on lead guitar. If you like Foghat and have never heard Lookin' In, it sounds just like an early Foghat album.
