Happy 50TH Anniversary Young Frankenstein Dec 15th

December 15th 2024 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Mel Brooks/Gene Wilder classic Young Frankenstein being released.
.
If you have not seen it in a while watch it in honor of it's 50th anniversary or if you have never seen it, treat yourself to this classic the 1st time.

You will have to watch it on DVD, or possibly a linear movie channel, as the film has never been on any streaming service so far at this time.

Never seen it but set a reminder to watch it on the early on 15th. I’ll be working alone that night which usually gives me time to at least watch one film, Had never seen Blazing Saddles until earlier this year and ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would.

Re: Happy 50TH Anniversary Young Frankenstein Dec 15th

I first saw Young Frankenstein in the early 80s when it was on the Sunday Morning Matinee. I'd have been six or seven years old, and was allowed to stay home alone while my family went to church so I could see the movie. This was before VCRs, so catching a movie when it played on TV was a priority. I love that my parents thought, "He'll get more out of watching this movie than sitting in church."

Probably my favorite Mel Brooks movie. I bought it on VHS when I was was a kid and watched it at least a dozen times within a short period of time.

Hard to believe the only one involved in that scene who is still with us is Mel Brooks.

One of my all time favorites. So much comedy gold.

That's not true. I may be unavailable right now but "never" would be incorrect. I watched/streamed it for the first time last year (2023) with my teens around Halloween. 99% sure it was on Max (or HBOmax or whatever the name was at that point).
