The trailer has some The Wrestler vibes, but I'm not sure that Pamela Anderson can pull it off. Mickey Rourke was a good actor, who's crazy, but he always could act. Pamela Anderson was always a playmate, who starred in TV shows with other terrible actors. I liked her Netflix documentary and the trailer for The Last Showgirl doesn't look bad at all, but I do have my reservations.

Pamela did fine work in this role and actually all of the supporting cast were really good. The Substance did a better job with this similar theme. The Q&A was really entertaining. Some good stores told by Pam and Jamie.

Good movie, reminded me both story and tone of The Wrestler.
I grew up in the 90's, and prime Pamela Anderson was my dream woman lol. Definitely her best acting performance. She still has a body for someone approaching 60.
I didn't even know Jamie Lee Curtis was playing her best friend until the credits.

I can see that. Though, I feel like there may some elevated version of this film that could've leaned in more to the Black Swan style psychosis.
Anderson is really good in this.
I definitely did not recognize Jason Schwartzman in his cameo right away. All these Coppolas working together.

Jamie Lee Curtis looked like Tan Mom

I enjoyed the movie, and liked that it played in such a minor key, focusing on the characters.
I thought the photography looked like shit, and can't tell if the excessive soft focus in so many scenes was the fault of the filmmakers or did I have a lousy projectionist.

Saw this last week.
Echoing much of what has been said in this thread but Pamela Anderson was wonderful in this film.
While the script isn't necessarily strong, as Crocker Jarmen mention, I did enjoy many of its characters (Jamie Lee Curtis, Kiernan Shipka, Dave Bautisa).

This was not bad.
I was never a big Pam Anderson fan and thought she was a bimbo but this movie changed that and she seems like a nice person in real life.
I thought maybe the supporting actors would have to carry the movie but Pam did just fine probably since this role hit close to home and she could relate.
However I found the Jamie Lee Curtis character annoying.
What was weird that when Eddie (Batista) took Shelly on a date and it seemed like it was the first time until

I also watched it last night. It was kind of a slog and not much fun, though I thought Pam was great in it. My wife on the other hand totally loved it and cried at the end.
It was weirdly edited and it felt like important scenes were cut, like the scene where Shipka pounds on Shelly's door and talking about how she regrets running away from home and how her mom won't let her return but Shelly won't let her in. I had no idea what was going on there.
You weren't paying attention. Before when Shelly invites the girls over for fish dinner, they find out she invited Eddie over and they get mad. Jamie Lee's character says "You guys have a history" and Shelly replies "Yeah, a BAD history ".
