I heard about this movie on social media months ago. Likely not for me, but interesting choice to make it a period movie with its themes.

I saw the trailer and... I dunno. It looks too damned arty. I like Craig and I think there might be an interesting story there, especially given the time period, but the trailer is a touch too weird. Which I suppose is apropos given the film's title (making my it a double entendre).

Saw this last night. It's impossible to pin down Gaudagnino because every movie he does is different (and that's not a bad thing). Craig has never been better with this role, he completely owned it. The runtime was a tad too long but it never made me bored, if that makes any sense. Really good cinematography and score. Schwartzman was unrecognizable and it almost seemed like this role was for Michael Stuhlbarg (basically because he looks just like him here) but he wasn't available. Anyways, it was good overall and Craig deserves the praise.

Agreed.

Loved all the stuff walking around Mexico City at night. The cinematography was top-notch. All those cool phantom limb shots... blending of bodies during the trip.

The last act will be frustrating for many, I assume. Fits in nicely with Naked Lunch.

Challengers still the better Guadagnino film of the year though, IMO.

I love the pace he is cranking out films these days. Can't wait for After The Hunt.

There was a sound cue that hits a couple of times that I just could not shake so I checked out the score to see if it was there. The song Pure Love at around 3:37 it kicks in. It's just so cool sounding.

With the exception of the Prince and Nirvana songs scattered in the soundtrack this was awful and really boring and way too long at 2 hrs and 15 minutes.
