New Jack White Album - No Name
Jack White released a new album yesterday out of nowhere and gave it away for free in record form to anyone who purchased anything in one of his record stores. The album had a label saying No Name on it but the youtube version i found labels it as Deja Vu. It’s really good.
Video with album below. For some reason wouldn’t work when i pasted it here. No word yet on a wider release.

loving the first track. Will see if its on iTunes to check the whole thing out. Really enjoyed the white stripes in the past as well as his SNL appearance. Love the gritty bass of his guitar work and the distortion. I have to assume he played everything on the new disc himself in the studio?

Haven’t heard yet who, if anyone other than White, played on it. Hoping he tours off it.

I've been listening to a rip of it quite a bit, and really enjoying it. Proper release should be coming next Friday to indie stores.
Had a buddy score one in Detroit. He'd planned to go back the next day and get more for myself and a few other friends, but they cut sales off at 8pm Friday.

Just a reminder that this drops at select indie stores tomorrow!
...and still no word on why they chose to spell the title backwards.

I have listened to it twice on TIdal. I dig it, it reminds me of the White Stripes the most out of all of his solo albums. Has a Icky Thump feel and sound to it, which means it sounds like it was recorded to cassette on a boombox that is another room.

I used to be really into The White Stripes as well as Jack White and his various other bands but I’ve kind of fell off listening to him. I think after his first or second solo album I sort of lost some interest.

I feel like it's pretty universally agreed that there's a big drop off after the first two solo albums. Hoping there's another Dead Weather or Raconteurs album coming soon. Have really liked to loved all of them. Going to hunt down and pick up this album next week.

I think my favorite thing he ever did was Icky Thump. Great album overall and one I listen to quite a bit.

I like Icky Thump a lot. It was stuck in my car's cd player for like 14 months and I never got sick of it.

Tried to get tickets today for detroit show monday. Was in queue over 3000 for a place that only holds 1000.

Unfortunately, it didn't make it to either of my local indie stores today. Both told me that there were issues getting stock from TMR, and they should see it in 2-3 weeks. They also said NOT to buy it from "the flippers"!
Pretty sure it was a standard script given to them by Third Man.

Re: New Jack White Album - Deja Vu
I have a conspiracy theory about this album, I believe he made it years ago, but since it was so in line with his previous works with the white stripes, he sidelined it for a while.
It's a very impressive album and one of his best - it easily beats out his last two efforts.
I believe the only physical release will be on vinyl and I already pre-ordered mine on the third man records website.
If it wasn't already mentioned, the actual title of the album is: "No Name".

Interesting theory. Could be.
If someone wants to change the title would be appreciated. Don’t know where the Deja Vu title came from but is was suspected to be the title early on.

I've never heard it as the title (other than this thread), but I'd assume it's based on a lyrical reference from Tonight (Was A Long Time Ago).

Don't really care - I'll be happy with it either way!

Public Service Announcement for those who don't keep up with these things - The White Stripes' Elephant album has been issued on SACD.

Scored two tickets to see Jack on tour on April 5th in Omaha. Either my friend and I will go or my wife and I. She’s not as big of a fan but will go if my friend can’t. Pretty excited. I probably wanted to see Jack more like ten years ago but regardless I’m sure it’ll be a cool show.
