The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

Is there hope that rock is not dead?

We have to import from Mexico since nobody in the U.S. is playing this music for the younger generations.

New? They've been around a decade when they were first doing covers on Youtube.

There's a newer generation rockin' out...

Yoyoka and Ellen Alaverdyanare badasses..

Re: The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

I posted about The Warning years ago and the tools that commented on here said that their gear sucked because it was from Orange Amps. You know, because gear dictates talent. They hit the big time quite a while ago. I have their debut album they crowd funded even before they had a label deal.

These girls are amazing. Been following for years. They did some badass Metallica covers when they were kids.

This was sorta their breakout hit few years back

Seen them a few times, they have some good stuff. Like others have said they have been around a bit.

Re: The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

New band that has 4 albums released over the past 7 years? I saw them last year and they were one of the best shows I'd seen in a long time.

The only problem I saw with them is their fan base is similar to Band Maid (a Japanese all female rock band), the majority being 60+ year old white men. I got to the Warning show maybe 3 hours before doors and there were several old dudes with their lawn chairs in line since early morning. They see several shows on the tour and pay top level Patreon access to get sound check access too. It's got to be creepy for the band to see these guys fill up the VIP and camping out in the front row for every show.

I did not know but they were heavy for a band appearing on network TV

I think they are one of the MTV Push Artists to Watch For and their video for Six Feet Deep gets played on MTV Live the MTV channel that still shows music videos.

I love that the drummer sings and plays at a high level too. One of my favorites from them, this video was made when they were all teenagers back in 2019, the youngest was 14.

They even did a cover of "Enter Sandman" with Alessia Cara. Somewhat different take than the original.

Yep--it's literally Disc 1, Track 1 on "The Metallica Blacklist" four-disc set.

Not to switch bands, but another really great all female band is Plush.
The lead singer was on The Voice back in the day but the band has grown so much. Saw them with Halestorm and Evanescence few years back.

*they also do the best cover of Barracuda of any band ever

This is true. I think they have/had a Patreon at one point and these old dudes go in there and buy up the top-tier perks and whatnot. Also, their parents are part of the touring team, so they are as protected as can be while on the road.

Re: The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

Rock and roll is still for the young, and that's the way it should be. When I got back into playing again, I met up with a former bandmate who had just reformed his old 90s band and was out gigging again, and he told me the gigs you want are at the all-ages venues, not the bars. At the bars, you get a handful of disinterested people shuffling around, maybe watching you, maybe just having a conversation with their friends that you're ruining by playing loud music. But the kids at the all ages venues go apeshit for rock and roll. The singer of my band is a high school teacher, and he confirmed; a lot of the kids in his classes come into school wearing Green Day and Blink 182 shirts.
We got a show this weekend and there were questions on our Instagram, "Is this an all ages show?", but unfortunately it's not. We're working on it, cuz that's where our fanbase will be, even though we're a bunch of, well, middle aged guys with jobs like high school teacher.

Go see Doll Riot when you get a chance. Buncha teenage girls rocking out. Still need a little more polish, but they're getting out there. First full length LP comes out this month.

OK listening now. The song 'Those Days' has a White Stripes and Veruca Salt sound but I like it.

Good luck with the gigs! Get some pro-shot footage.

Locally there is a spot called SOMA and lots of established bands started there and still go from time to time just to show appreciation to fans.
Pierce The Veil played 3 sold out shows there. Blink started there but of course they are local.

Oh, I'm familiar enough with SOMA, so much that I actually played there when it truly was "SOMA" (Union St., SOuth of MArket St. downtown). Not as easy for locals to get in there as it was in the 90s though.

And I saw Doll Riot again over the weekend, and they rocked the roof off the place. Picked up their LP and it's a banger. Band is going to take off soon, see 'em at a small venue while you can.

^ Those gals remind me of Vixen or Femme Fatale

Thunderpussy should also be added to the list of all-female hard rock bands to check out - they've also been around for several years. Saw them live a couple times and they're pretty good.

Re: The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

My band almost got the opening slot on Doll Riot's record release party this weekend. The opening band dropped out and they were looking for a last minute replacement. But then a couple hours later the opening band is back in. Would have been a real coup for my act, which normally plays Tuesday night at 11:30 in front of, well, our wives and girlfriends, the other band, and their wives and girlfriends.

Re: The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

That's a shitty deal man. Sorry to hear that. Kinda lame for a band to drop out then a couple hours before showtime, "OK, we'll play"

Been listening to the Warning since they were little doing Metallica covers and whatnot. I'm loving the new album and glad they're getting some mainstream love.

Re: The Warning New All Female Heavy Rock Band

I first saw The Warning 10 years ago with this Metallica cover video. The bassist Ale has really matured but she was so young back then.
