Don't know anything about the dude or Picard, but I am down for this. Enemy Mine has always been one of my favorite under-rated films.

He’s a great sci-fi writer. He created 12 Monkeys the series and was the showrunner of the final season of Star Trek: Picard. He won some Saturn awards for his work on Picard.

I don’t mind an update of Enemy Mine at all. It’s a movie that could benefit from the newer technology and makeup effects compared to 40 years ago.

I'd be against this if not for Terry Matalas' involvement. I just hope we get a tasteful 4K restoration of the original to go along with it.

Enemy Mine is one of those movies I watched numerous times with my dad on Saturday afternoons when I was a kid. Despite that nostalgia and warm connection to my dad, I really have no love for the actual movie.

I also remember hearing that Wolfgang Peterson was forced to add the literal “mine” at the end of the movie by studio heads because of the title.

I had just told my Mom about that today, after I posted in this thread.

No, you see, it works because his enemies were in the mine!

I wouldn't mind it if it was a sequel instead.
