Hundreds of Beavers (2024, D: Cheslik)

In this 19th century, supernatural comedy, a drunken applejack salesman must go from zero to hero and become North America's greatest fur trapper when he loses his whole operation in a fire and is stranded in the wilderness. Now facing starvation, he must survive in a surreal winter landscape surrounded by Hundreds of Beavers - all played by actors in full-sized beaver costumes. Using nothing but his dim wits, he develops increasingly complex traps to battle the beavers and win the hand of a mischievous lover.
Exclusive U.S. streaming premiere on Fandor begins April 19, 2024.

Looks pretty wild.
It is available to rent on Amazon and Apple... but will be on Fandor later this week.

It's completely bonkers. Unlike anything I've seen before. It wont be for everyone, and it's a bit too long, but I had a great time with it.
Also, skip the trailer, go in blind. You'll know in 10 minutes if you're gonna finish

I saw this back in September at a local theater and absolutely loved it. It's an absurd blend of silent-era comedy, Looney Tunes-style misadventures, platformer video games, and a wilderness survival fever dream.

Oh yeah, I saw this on Friday and dug it. 2024 has been very solid for these sorts of indie films

My only knock is that it went on FAR too long . . . Felt like a series of online shorts that were stitched together into a 2 hour feature.
Other than that, this was an absolutely awesome time!

Finally saw this and yes, it could use about 15 minutes trimmed but for the sheer creative energy, low-budget ingenuity and surreal comedy it’s a pretty remarkable fun watch! Seeing it in a crowded cinema would be a blast. Welcome antidote to franchise overkill.

I saw this after eating some strong edibles not long after it was available for rental on streaming and laughed my ass off at it.

Cartuna’s slipcover Blu-ray sold out quick among all the new partner titles at Vinegar Syndrome this month. The movie is free on Tubi (and elsewhere presumably) for those so inclined. I do agree with the earlier comment that it feels like sketches stitched together, but overall it’s pretty audacious.

A friend saw this and said it was cool. It also only cost 150K to make.
