I’ll give it to them, I never would have guessed the cleaning ladies forcing the scientists out into the cold at gunpoint was what happened
Good to see them able to shoehorn one more season 1 reference in with “Time is a flat circle”
I still think season 2 was the worst, but this one wasn’t much better

So can I skip 4 and 5 and just watch this one?

Interesting that it was actually Navarro that shot the guy that everyone assumed Danvers did, makes her disdain for her make a little more sense. In the end the cover up story (weather occurrence) ended up being a real cover up for everything that happened. So, did Navarro wander out onto the ice, relocate, move in with Danvers?

At least it was only 6 episodes and wasn’t a much bigger waste of time. Plus some nice cinematography. Otherwise, terrible.

This show was so dumb. I wasn’t satisfied with the conclusion at all. So we have our answer to who killed Annie and the scientists but there’s really no justice because the cops in Ennis are corrupt and cover up evidence/dish out justice to those who deserve it on their own.

Yeah, it's a toss-up for me. S2 was probably worse, but that may have only been because it was 2 episodes longer - which prolonged the agony.
Just terrible.
I may have missed it, but did they ever explain why the dead scientists didn't die from freezing (due to their horrified reactions instead of dying in their sleep)?

I don't get the ending tho. Did Navarro die after wandering out to the snow (once the sun came back out) and her ghost was visiting Danvers?
All in all, I really liked this season. Apparently not too many here did. I guess I'm in the minority here.

DEADLINE So did Navarro become a ghost in the finale after she walked out on the ice?
ISSA LÓPEZ I’m not saying that she’s alive, and I’m certainly not saying that she’s dead. I very carefully crafted this as an ink block test for you to discover yourself as an audience member. I do love that Navarro states very early in the series that she has this impulse to just walk away and leave everything behind. On the other hand, the entire series is an exploration of the fact that she feels a calling to the beyond. In the climax of the finale, and instead of fighting it and going in with pain and fear, she surrenders to it. And in doing it, she receives a piece of herself. So that call that she was afraid of is solved. The Aboriginal people in Australia go and walk about, find themselves and then come back, which is I think is what Kali embraced [for the character]. However, there is a chance that she is also going to be with the women before her to visit them. You can read it both ways and it’s up to you to interpret which one fulfills your heart.

I see it that she died then, based on how she was thru-out the whole series. Her spirit was visiting Danvers at the end.

That's my read as well. Overall I felt the finale was relatively satisfying. Doesn't make up for a stretch of sub-par episodes though. Probably would have been a better 2-hour movie stringing together the first and last episodes and skipping the fluff in the middle.

"Relatively satisfying" is accurate. Started so strong. And effort was made.
Did they explain the spiral vertebrae in the ice? Those looming mythic elements (the research, the hallucinations, etc.) were good, but never go anywhere.
Not sure what I expected, given True Detective is always grounded in reality.

Time is a flat circle when you're stuck watching this drawn out snooze-fest. Show needed a counter for the number of times Danvers shouted "Navarro". That house with the cleaning women must be like the Tardis or use clown car technology. Navarro left everything behind and wandered off without as much a coat so can spend time haunting Danvers on her pricey lakefront property.

I guess they should've done their own mopping up at their super secret delicate research lab.

To me that reads: "We don't know what actually happened. You figure it out." Ink blot test my ass.
I enjoyed the season because of the acting and the cinematography. The plot was shit.

Yeah, I liked it as well. Didn't see that ending coming (now you could argue there was no way you could figure that the killers were a bunch of angry cleaning ladies, that is a fair counter), but at least it all tied together in a semi-logical way.
Good thing every single person in the research lab was complicit in Anna's murder (like in Julius Caesar or Murder on the Orient Express), otherwise those cleaning ladies would have unwittingly killed a totally innocent research scientist.
