Ohh, good episode! Loved this one.

I was dreading an episode of Sabine and Ahsoka fighting creatures on an unknown planet, something cliche in this franchise.

But we got good lightsaber battles instead. And I was happy to see Sabine hand over the map. I want to see that arc progress.

So I’m guessing Syndulla and crew will need Ahsoka to force tether with Sabine to find the location, and then take the space whale route/wormhole.

Fantastic episode.

Great story movement even though it was telegraphed.

Lightsaber battles were great…
Spoiler:
… and pop goes the Marrok.

Looks like the WBW made an early appearance.

Oh… and one thing…
Spoiler:
They need to fire their de-aging crew. Why can every other show do it better than Star Wars?! I’m just waiting for some one to make a better “Young Anakin” and post it on YouTube ala Luke at the end of Mando Season 2.

I agree, the de-aging didn’t look good. The best “official” de-aging I think is from Terminator Dark Fate.

Even the de-aging in this summer’s Indiana Jones movie was better than this… and Filoni should have access to those same people and tech. It’s frustrating.

Looks like they pulled the Tron: Legacy crew out of mothballs and gave them work.

I will say this, finally characters made decisions that felt right. And thank goodness we can put Marok behind us, that felt right to me as well...good creative decisions all around. Still a very flat and unexciting environment, if the forest had more visual interest (like in Sleepy Hollow or LOTR) that would've added a lot for me at least. I like these style of saber duels also, just a little flourish of force use but nothing too silly, mainly just quick jabs/thrusts.

My God....This entire episode was better than the entire Sequel Trilogy . I'm guessing the hyperspace jump was a huge middle finger to the Holdo Maneuver.

Agreed. I am WAY more interested in anything in the Filoniverse, especially anything to do with Phoenix Squadron than I am with the Sequel era. Kathleen Kennedy really effed all that up.

This is how you do female empowerment right.

Really good episode. The hyperspace jump causing havoc to the New Republic ships was visually very, very cool. The Vader breathing at the end was ominous; I hope it brings some chaos. The "platform" that Ahsoka was on at the end, that's from Rebels --- what the heck is it exactly? A path between parallel universes?

For me this hands down the best D+ Star Wars content to date. Andor didn't do much for me, and Mandalorian S1 was good, but it's been a steady decline since. I did like Obi Wan for what it was, but it wasn't great either.

I watched a five minute Rebels recap on YouTube that has helped me connect with the characters and plot threads in Ahsoka. I know what those space whales are for. I know where Ahsoka was at the end of this episode. I know why Thrawn is such a threat. Highly recommended for those unfamiliar with this portion of Star Wars.

Anakin was supposed to look fake right? I thought since it clearly wasn't him they made him look that way on purpose?

I don't think so... I took it as really bad de-aging.

It didn't even look like they used de-aging. It looked more like just a wig and makeup.

If I'm correct he's supposed to look young as:
Spoiler:
It's a much younger Anakin from the Clone Wars S3 Mortis arc. He looks the same as those episodes.

This show has been fantastic. Blows the sequel trilogy out of the water (granted low bar).

Agree. This was an amazing episode!

Bonus: For those who know Ahsoka more from the Clone Wars show, we got a live action Anikan that looks like the Clone Wars show.

I did laugh when Baylan said “Do it” when convincing Sabine to hand over the map.

I saw a Youtuber say the de-aging deepfake was probably taken from this scene:

Best episode so far. Ahsoka the character is a bit of a bore due to how stoic she's supposed to be. She's pretty boring when not fighting - everything else is much more interesting.

The intergalactic map was ripped right off from Prometheus (go look and see), but I really like that ring ship. When it space jumped, that was also taken from Last Jedi, except instead of light speed ramming into an imperial star ship, it jumped into deep space and destroying everything in its path. Awesome scene.

Anakin looked CGI'd, but the overall episode was great. The droid fight in the beginning was cool.

It's funny, I don't think they even needed de-aging at all here, just use him as he looks now.(which is still quite young) It's accepted that there is some amount of aging while in the force imo.(look at Alec Guiness) Hopefully it's not too distracting in next week's episode.

So it looks like Ahsoka Episode 5 will be coming to select theaters. How to say "Thrawn is showing up in Episode 5" without saying it, lol.

More here.
