Looks like Snyder is getting comfortable at Netflix.

That's the same teaser that plays after the end credits of Part I. I'm surprised to see
Spoiler:
Ray Fisher
make a appearance. I assume that is going to be a flashback for budget Furiosa.

Yeah, most likely. Considering his character is also a getting a prequel comic, makes some sense.

Just wait. He’s actually almost the main character in the Snyder-cut coming down the road.

That... would be hilarious. And what of hetero C3PO (a.k.a. the pacifist version of Transformers: The Last Knight's Cogman)? They should double bill as headliners of the Snyder Cut.

REBEL MOON — PART TWO: THE SCARGIVER premieres on Netflix April 19, 2024.

REBEL MOON — PART TWO: THE SCARGIVER continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.

From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, REBEL MOON is a 2-part movie event decades in the making.

REBEL MOON — PART ONE: A CHILD OF FIRE is now playing on Netflix.

This looks...eye rollingly bad. Give me some beer and edibles and it might be tolerable.

I have to fix my 3D printer tonight - this will give me something to half-pay attention to.

This has a lower score than the first? That's.. shocking isn't the word, but just, how?

Watched this last night and it's...fine. The first hour is a slog to get through, but that final hour is pure visual/audio bliss. I do feel this was butchered in the edit, so I hope the DC comes out and fills in the gaps. I get an almost Battle of the Five Armies vibe. That film became awesome when they added all the meat back in.

What I did not expect was that
Spoiler:
there's no resolution to the whole thing, just this chapter. It's set up to keep going.

Yeah, not a great movie at all. I did find the action pretty epic at times though and Bae Doona is pretty great being the only one doing anything close to real acting.

I'm really not feeling this. It hits close to a movie like Aeon Flux, ScarJo's Ghost in the Shell, or Sucker Punch. There's a lot of creativity and competence behind the production. It hits all the action-adventure notes. But it's just sort of dead to me. I don't feel the feelings I got watching a similar movie like 300. It's not bad. It's just not connecting to muh feelings.

Army of the Dead had plenty of loud and annoying moments, but had plenty of moments that hit me hard. And 300 had pretty much everyone feeling that way. Watchmen too. He knows how to do it. This one just isn't it.

I’m not sure how Snyder made such a boring “action” movie with not one but TWO slo-motion farming sequences, but he did!

My two favorite parts were
Spoiler:
the indestructible robot waiting until half the town was dead before joining the fight.

And how a room full of soldiers didn’t notice their main engine was COVERED in explosives.

Nothing interesting, unique or compelling in any of this. Just a million tropes we’ve seen before bundled together.

These look and sound amazing, but that is about the extent of it. Plot is awful. Acting is awful. All around a fucking mess. The first one was better than this was.

This pretty much sums it up for me. Part 1 was better, and it wasn't very good.

I agree with all of that except the bolded. IT IS BAD, IT IS JUST BAD. This is "playing with my action figures" bad as the story is just rehashed drivel. It's liked the cooking show Chopped, but instead of baskets of ingredients, the cook had to use the leftovers on diners' plates.
