An Ode To Character Actors
I was gonna post this in the Random Video Post thread in Other, but it seemed more appropriate here.

Re: An Ode To Character Actors
Pretty good, but William Hurt sticks out like a sore thumb. He was not just A-List and Oscar winner, he was the biggest star in Hollywood for like 3-4 years. Definitely not a "That guy,".

A few of my all-time favorites:
J.T. Walsh:

Pat Hingle:

Chief Dan George:

Joe Pantoliano:

John Vernon:

Honestly...I could sit here and do this all day. Too many to mention as I started going through my head with all the ones I like.

Gilbert Roland
Big fan of British character actors. Michael Ripper, Nigel Green, Jeremy Kemp, Michael Gough, etc. etc.
Love it when Leon Askin (Gen. Burkhalter) and Howard Caine ( Maj. Hockstetter) from Hogan's Heroes show up in something. When Kathleen Freeman pops up in something I always think "Gen. Burkhalter's sister".
The guy who played Fred Ziffel on Green Acres pops up from time to time.

Re: An Ode To Character Actors
There was a documentary about Al Leong in 2018, I saw it on Amazon Prime: "Henchman: The Al Leong Story," 111 min. long. Here are my notes from seeing it in 2019:
There are ample film and TV clips but this is all I said about them:
Too long. Random structure. Jeff Imada speaks too slowly and softly. Leong had a stroke in 2005. Helen Funai was his manager for a spell in 1980s. She’s from OUR MAN FLINT. Who’s Pat Jankiewicz? He sounds like an overenthusiastic fan and that’s all. No mention of Leong’s family, and he does have one. No wife or children seen. One daughter mentioned in passing but not i.d.’d. Who’s Rhonda Wong? She acted in TV shows in 1980s and was real cute then, but no mention of her on IMDB. The whole thing is kind of amateurish.
I would like to have seen extended clips of him from one of his more prominent movies, e.g., DIE HARD, DOUBLE DRAGON, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, where he’s a character. We do see a lot from LETHAL WEAPON, BILL & TED, and RAPID FIRE.

One of the best default Cop or Detective, Jack McGee. (I just watched the wedding massacre episode of Sunny)

Would John Lithgow belong here? I 100% he brings his A-game to every single project, despite not usually being the lead.
