Man, there's a genre I thought was dead.

This looks great! Nice change of character pace from the sweet and (somewhat) innocent persona of Lawrence.

Looking forward to this but hope to never see a trailer or movie do that dialogue to text bullshit ever again.

That looks great. Nice to see a hard R comedy like this again and J Law being a little vulgar.

I'm in. I need mid budget R comedies to make a comeback.

Those trailers actually make this look pretty funny!
They could also be showing all the funny moments in the entire movie.
Jennifer Lawrence looks like she’s having a lot of fun though.

I stumbled upon the second trailer today (never saw the first) and didn't laugh once.
By the the way, does Lawrence look weird to anyone else in this? Until her name popped up, I thought the lead actress was someone who kinda resembled Jennifer Lawrence. I didn't actually expect it to be her.

Looked the same to me too.
Plus she gave birth about six months prior to filming which is also pretty strenuous.

I had two thoughts simultaneously while watching the trailer - Lawrence is way too good an actress to be in this and this is going to be so much better because someone with Lawrence's talent is in the lead.

Regarding Jennifer Lawrence- she looks the same to me. Sure a little older but not unrecognizable.

Just came back from an early screening tonight at 7pm. It was sold out. Strangely Harkins Theater had an usher standing in the corner watching patrons for about half the money.
Anyway, I thought it was really good and funny. It had the vulgar humor and had some charm and heart. Jennifer Lawrence looks great post pregnancy and I thought she did a great job. Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti were also good as the overbearing parents. Andrew Barth Feldman was good being awkward and also had nice chemistry with Lawrence.
Surprised there was actually one scene that included
It’s true the trailer showed a few of the funnier moments. But there were still more laughs that kept me engaged. My audience seemed to love it. Only drawback was that I sat next to a fat guy who took his shoes off and was reclining barefoot 🦶
8.5 out of 10. A solid B+ from me.

Saw the same advanced screening tonight and this movie is a dud. If you’ve seen the red-band trailer for this then you’ve pretty much seen 75% of any of the remotely amusing bits in this.
I laughed exactly two times throughout this boring slog of a film. Two times, tops. One time was for that part already shown in the trailer, where Jennifer Lawrence gets punched in the throat during a pre-Princeton HS party. The other was for a random bit involving a “Chinese finger trap” where Lawrence has her finger stuck into one end and a guy’s dick is stuck in the other end (don’t ask).
The story is nonsensical. The pacing is slow and erratic. The laughs simply aren’t there. There is nothing clever or witty about any of the writing or dialogue. It isn’t even all that raunchy in the way something like ‘There’s Something About Mary’ was over 20 years ago. Lawrence does what she can with the material and
Andrew Feldman does give it some heart but in the end the only two things I will take away from this and remember about this movie after tonight are:
1) I cannot believe this was the film Jennifer Lawrence decided to first go full frontal nude for..
and
2) Jesus Christ, is Ferris Bueller REALLY that old now?? Ugh..
