This is rapper Jack Harlow's acting debut. Apparently he won the part on the 1st audition.

I watched the original for the first time about 2 months ago. Really liked it. Not sure about this though

The original holds up incredibly well. Went through a run of showing my son a dozen or so classic sports films about a year ago and he said this was easily his favorite.

I’m one of the few who really didn’t care for the original. I watched it because it was all the rage back in the early 90s and then again just a few years ago trying to give it another shot, thinking I missed something the first time. Nope. Still didn’t care for it one bit.

And I can’t stand Rosie Perez! She has gotten better in the few things I’ve seen her in in recent years but back in the 90s she was insufferable!

That being said, the ONE thing I think it has going for it is Wesley and Woody’s chemistry. They play well off each other.

if this is as bad as Jack Harlowe's music it will suck.

Need to watch the original again. It's been awhile.

Nice to see they're using some of the same locations from the original film. I just don't get the same chemistry that Snipes and Harrelson had.

Kind of a consequence of the "death of the movie star" right? Who are these two no-name hacks and why would anyone want to watch them lol. It does look like another horrible remake as well.

Depends, I guess. The fact that it's a remake of an existing movie, I would think, helps. But, you're right. I don't think a movie with the title of "Black Folks Can't Swim" would fly today. At all.

It wasn’t that long ago that I knew the vast majority of actors/actresses working in Hollywood. Around 2005ish I used to play “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” and I was pretty damn good at it. Over the last 15 years or so though, I’ve really lost touch with who these people are in Hollywood. I might not be as involved with all the goings on that I used to but I still keep an eye on this kind of stuff and have no idea who many of these people are anymore.

I miss the good old days when I knew all of the actors in Hollywood and DIDN’T know every dirty aspect of their personal lives.

Haven't seen anything new on Hulu lately so I'm game.

Never saw the original so I have that going for me.

I mean, fame aside, there just aren't that many charismatic and good actors anymore - Snipes kept you hyped up and Woody kept you confused lol. Most Young/upcoming actors today are just dull.

As I said in the original post, this is not even a theatrical movie. It's going straight to Hulu. If you don't stream or don't subscribe to Hulu, then don't worry, you'll never see it.

Gotta be honest, I think it looks pretty good. And I wanted to hate this based on the fact that it's being made in the first place.
