Movies/Scenes that changed because of actor shenanagins

So, was watching Dodgeball and the scene with Lance Armstrong always sticks out to me now since his steroid/cheating scandal totally contradicts what was meant to inspire Peter to go back and compete in the dodgeball tournament.

What other scenes and or movies have been affected by an actor and their off-screen shenanigans (after a films release)?

Lost Highway becomes a lot creepier thanks to Robert Blake and his murdery shenanigans.

The first thing that comes to mind is Woody Allen in Manhattan:
Allen co-stars as a twice-divorced 42-year-old comedy writer who dates a 17-year-old girl

I think Blade Trinity had to be changed due to Wesley Snipes behavior.

Same for Cosby, I'd think (though the show is probably the biggest loss)

I’m curious about examples of this with where people became irrelevant or dropped out of the public consciousness years later. or are referencing an earlier role.

So if a movie had a scene with someone famous at the time or someone in a cameo referencing an earlier role, contemporary audiences would have laughed or reacted, and now there’s no reaction.

How many young audience members saw the STARSKY AND HUTCH movie in 2003 with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson and had no idea who the original Starsky and Hutch were when they made a cameo near the end of the movie?

In 1933, Peggy Hopkins Joyce was famous for marrying and divorcing a succession of rich men. She played herself in the lead female role in INTERNATIONAL HOUSE (1933) and a lot of the jokes around her character were based on that. Luckily for modern audiences, the film also had W.C. Fields, Burns & Allen and, in a special number, Cab Calloway singing "Reefer Man."

I was thinking something similar last time I watched Tootsie. I'm sure most people know there was a famous artist named Andy Warhol, but is his image still in the public's mind. During his cameo in the movie, I wonder how many people understand who that is, or are they wondering, Why are they lingering on this shot of Tootsie and this white-haired man? Is he supposed to be somebody?

I'd add "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and "Proof of Life" to the list. Any time I see them advertised on streaming, my first thought goes to the fact that the two leads in each had affairs and blew up their marriages.

Dr. No. In Dr. No's lair Bond notices a particular painting. It's a famous painting that in real life had been stolen and was all over the news at the time. The inference being that Dr. No was the one who stole it. At the time audiences got the joke.

I think that Warhol is still in the public consciousness to some degree. His look and art are fairly iconic.

Seeing the opening Miramax Films / The Weinstein Company at the start gives me pause for a moment when I'm watching some of my favorite movies now.

The Naked Gun movies are a little easier to take because his character is constantly getting the shit beat out of him. But then there's the transphobia in them.

She should still be proud of the movie, for the point she was trying to make, although not everyone understands it, and Elliot Page can still be proud for the movies where he was playing girls and women.
