Synopsis: Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. is a satirical comedy starring Regina Hall as Trinitie Childs - the proud first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, who together with her husband Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown), once served a congregation in the tens of thousands. But after a scandal forces their church to temporarily close, Trinitie and Lee-Curtis must reopen their church and rebuild their congregation to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen.

I'm sure this won't have much interest here on DVDTalk, but this looks like it could be a decent comedy for a change. I generally enjoy Regina Hall though.

Saw this at the theatre tonight. It's very much a small, indie film. I smiled here and there, but the "jokes" were mostly gentle, not really laugh-out-loud. Not sure if going back-and-forth between documentary footage and traditional film narrative added anything, they might as well have stuck to one or the other for the entire movie.
Great opening shot, though.
