None of those seem that obscure, especially Lain and Guyver. They're just (besides Magi) older. Like if you went up to some of the younger anime fans they might not know what Ranma 1/2 is, just because we haven't had anything new for it come out in quite some time.

Yeah, Iria is the one that's based off of a live action film (Zeiram) with character designs by Masakazu Katsura (Video Girl Ai, Iis, Tiger and Bunny, etc.)

I've heard of the shows listed, though haven't really seen any of them except the first couple episodes of Lain.

How is Serial Experiments Lain? I noticed it's only $5 on Apple.

It wasn't my cup of tea from what I saw. Deep, ambiguous and murky storytelling.

Unless Hitman gets an alternate manga ending ala Shaman King, I don't know if they'd redo it. The manga ending was pretty terrible.
