Couple first reactions I’ve seen have been mixed. Sounds like it’s fairly typical Marvel fare, but some of the visuals Sam Raimi brings are cool. I’m planning to see it with my girlfriend on Thursday after work.

Friday for me.
bluray.com (not sure how much weight that holds), but they gave it 8/10 with a good write up on the chaos the movie brings and how Raimi was able to hone it in and make it viewer friendly so to speak. also, they mentioned the horror aspect that Raimi is certainly known for and would be a nice change of pace in the mostly colorful cheerfulness (even in death) of most MCU movies.
seems promising, but i guess not an overwhelming winner in the MCU. still i love the character and Cumberbatch in the role and with what i heard about cameos, still don't know who exactly nor do i want to know yet, seems like it will be fun at the very least and honestly that's what i need and look for in these films. just saw the first again and still love it.

I still want to see this movie, and I am staying away from spoilers as best I can, so I did not read the AV Club's review but ouch, they gave it a C-!

The review I saw said to lower your expectations a tad. Viewers will be divided.

I haven’t read what they are but supposedly some of the spoilery bits that people are excited for are underwhelming. The review I watched said they seemed thrown in last minute.

NY Post: One of the year's worst

The stupid “multiverse” is turning into Marvel’s annoying houseguest who won’t leave. Yet again, we visit a bunch of alternate realities, meet bizarro versions of the main character and get walloped by confusion.

Yeah that isn't a very good review, I'd give it a D+.
This has an 80% on rottentomatoes with 150 reviews. Most are fairly close to the fresh/rotten margin. But that isn't all that uncommon for Marvel.

I mean, I'd say some are getting super hero movie fatigue what with the shows and the films but, then again, Spider-man got great reviews soooOOoooooo....
When it comes to Marvel, I trust them in their move towards their overall vision of where things go as opposed to, say, DC or SONY. The first three phases of Marvel flicks didn't always knock the movie out of the park but I enjoyed all of them in one way or another and the overall journey to Endgame was a fantastic one.

At 80% it still edges out:
Captain Marvel
Black Widow
Iron Man 3
Thor
Age of Ultron
Iron Man 2
The Incredible Hulk
Thor Dark World
and
Eternals
which, for some, isn't saying much

The thing is that not every MCU film will knock it out of the park completely. It’s not like it’s sitting super low or is in the rotten territory. People place so much emphasis on the stupid Rotten Tomatoes scores. Sometimes I get it, but often it’s just kinda silly.

The Raimi-ness aspects were great.
The scope of the movie isn’t actually as big as I thought it would be.
I’m glad they downplayed as much as they could in the marketing that Wanda was the actual villain of the movie. She was great.
Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic is perfect. It’s a shame if that was it for him in the role. I had heard he didn’t want to commit, but hey that’s some great fan service. And the F4 movie is now without a director…
Stewart floating in the yellow chair with animated series theme. Awesome.
Who would have ever thought we’d see Anson Mount as Black Bolt again?
Captain Carter rocked. She could do that all day.
Overall, not top tier, but a fun outing.

I’m pretty conflicted. I’m a pretty big MCU fan and there was a LOT of fan service. I’ll probably write more later but my reaction mid way through movie.
OMG…OMG…who..? OOOO…MM…..GEEEE!! They used THAT theme song too!!! Oh no that’s not good…oh no…OH NO…YES! Here he comes…OOOOHHHHNOOOOO..not again…
Im not sure why they changed composers and I like Danny Elfman but Michael Giacchino did a MUCH better job.
Also as a HUGE fan of WandaVision I don’t really like where they ended up. I love that storyline a lot and even though Wanda was heading that way it was it just didn’t sit well with me. I think they should have redeemed her a little more. Go a little further about her being stuck inside and the Scarlett Witch has taken over. Have Paul Bettany appear as the one for Wanda to be able to take control back from the Scarlett Witch. I know it’s a Dr. Strange movie but I don’t like how it ended for Wanda.
I think my biggest gripe is that it was the opposite of The Batman. This film wasn’t given a chance to breathe at all. It just goes from one MacGuffin to another to a fan service to another MacGuffin. Even the entire character of American Chavez was a walking MacGuffin.

My wife wanted to see this so we went and both of us walked out disappointed, neither of us liked No Way Home either so that should have been our sign to wait for this one. It's got some cool moments and the cameos are fun but beyond that it's just okay to us.

This is pretty much how I felt. It was a lot of fun. I gave 4 out of 5. Wanda was great. The visuals were amazing at times. I want to see it again in Dolby Cinema, I saw it in IMAX and there was no indication it was going to be in 3D when I bought my ticket, but the 3D was done pretty well (I prefer 2D).

That whole sequence was basically X-Force from Deadpool 2 and with the treatment Xavier (the most power telepath in the universe)....

The more I think about it the less happy I am with the cameos. Don’t get me wrong I love fan service. I absolutely do. I hate it when people complain about fan service because why? It’s giving fans what they really want.
That being said I feel like these cameos were wasted. I also didn’t really like how brutally Wanda took them all out. I know they touched on it at tiny bit but Wanda went from being incredibly remorseful for imprisoning a town for a few days to brutally murdering everyone in her path. Supposedly Wanda was trapped in her mind by the Scarlett Witch but they just touched on that for a second. Right before Patrick Stewart is killed on screen AGAIN! Seriously I hate that. He’s like the nerd version of Sean Bean. Except with the real life Patrick Stewart getting so far up in age it just hits too close to home. Plus this is like what, the fourth time we’ve seen professor x killed? It just seems like some really big time characters we FINALLY get to see in the MCU and their dispatched in a brutally shocking and quick way. I loved seeing Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter and feel she got the best screen time but we finally see John Krasinski as Reed Richards and he’s taken out in two seconds. And we finally see freakin Professor X in his yellow hover chair with the animated series theme (OMG best part of the whole movie) but he gets his neck snapped? I get it it’s a different universe yadda yadda but still it seems a bit hollow. These are basically the cameos I was expecting in Spiderman but was pleasantly surprised that they were treated with more respect in that movie.

Had a blast with this, with a rowdy crowd. Huge pop for Mr Fantastic. I'm glad that was not spoiled.
Also, how the hell did they keep that Wanda is the villain, under wraps? I know some people will not like that, but hey she did nearly make mutants extinct in the comics b
Rami's footprint was all over this, in a good way.
Break neck speed movie, tons of fun
Give us more Captain Carter!

Will have to read up on Clea, that caught me totally by surprise.
3.5 Fun movie! Love the humor Strange has been getting with NWH and this, he really has taken up a central role in the MCU. This really felt like a Raimi MCU film, a perfect combination I thought. I was really only disappointed with Scarlett Witch's conclusion, but the good news is...no one's ever really gone.
Was that woman looking out the window meant to be an AOC nod? First thing I thought of, looked just like her.
Also, saw the IMAX 3D presentation, not bad...some nice depth but I could take it or leave it. It was the only showing not nearly sold out which is why I went for it.

Just got back from seeing it on a regular screen at AMC. I thought it was good, but not as fun as Spider-Man last December. Had some good visuals and yes I did see Raimi's influence in the style of the movie.
Some fun cameos.
Man, poor Patrick Stewart. The third time Charles Xavier gets killed off.
I did not expect Scarlet Witch to become the full fledged villain. I guess it was a fitting send off from Wandavision.
I plan to see this again this weekend. I got stuck in an incredibly uncomfortable chair. The recliner was broken and I couldn't move to another seat. I also worked super early this morning at 6am and honestly I was a little tired and nodded off a few times. Maybe I should have waited a day to be a little more alert, but I wanted to see it as soon as I could to avoid spoilers.
And yes, the 2nd post credits scene was kind of dumb.
