Patti Harrison is trans and I’m very pleasantly surprised that doesn’t factor into her character. I love that she is cast to play a biological woman. (I have no idea if I’m using incorrect, outdated, or insensitive terminology here so apologies if I’m inadvertently offending anyone).

What a wonderful film. The only thing I had ever seen Harrison in was "Shrill". I love that show but hated her in that. Now I know it was the way her character was written. Because she is spectacular in this. Can't wait to see what she does next.

I saw this the other day via digital rental. It was good. I first saw Harrison on Made For Love and she stood out there. Had no idea she was trans.

Finally checked this out. Thought it was very, very good, especially for a romantic comedy, which usually are shit.
Patti Harrison is so good in this, both dramatically and for laughs.
I also did not know she was trans and would not have if someone didn’t mention it in this thread. Holy shit.
This will be on my Top 10 for 2021.

Wow. I just finished this and I really needed a minute when the credits started rolling. I seriously felt those final few seconds. Beckwith's direction and Harrison's performance are both spot on (throughout the whole movie, really) making that ending have a tremendous impact. I had no idea how the story was going to conclude, but I didn't think Beckwith was going to stop it where she did.
Good movie, but man, that ending really got me.
