Outside the Wire (2021, D: Håfström) - S: Anthony Mackie, Damson Idris - Netflix

Set in the very near future, Outside the Wire centers around a disgraced drone pilot is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer tasked to locate a doomsday device before insurgents do.

The film stars Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Civil War), Damson Idris (Snowfall, Black Mirror), Emily Beecham (Into the Badlands), Michael Kelly (House of Cards), Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) and Enzo Cilenti.

This comes out January 15, 2021. The NBA game tonight promoted this teaser trailer. Looks like a B movie, but could be fun.

This is from the director of Escape Plan.

I liked it well enough. It had some good visual effects and, despite the stupid name that will remind you too much of a Tom Hanks movie, the robot soldiers were pretty cool to see in action. They were a less white trash, ghetto speaking, Chappie.

Anthony Mackie was good in this and he had some pretty badass fight scenes that were fun to watch.

The story didn’t make a ton of sense but it gets you from point A to B just fine.

Overall, it’s a decent movie to watch on a Saturday night.

Enjoyed this more than I expected. Starts off seeming very linear but the motivation at the end was a nice "twist". I enjoy Mackie in basically anything he does.

Count me as someone who didn't care for this. It felt like it was meant for Netflix from day 1 and didn't disappoint from that standpoint.

Could have been better with a stronger leadDamson Idris was fucking dreadful as the lead trying to carry this. I have seen better acting in a porn.
