why? The Queen’s Gambit was amazing with her, but many more factors involved with that. Maybe Thoroughbreds too, but liked Olivia Cooke more actually. Everything else, well, the other two I’ve seen (The New Mutants, Split) she was ok. Nothing special at all. One great project does not make a great actor imo.

...Even if you don't have an inkling of interest in chess, this show needs to be seen because it is just so much more than that. Anya Taylor-Joy makes it so much more than that. So much more indeed. She was a wunderkind not only in portraying the wunderkind she did in the show, but a study in amazing acting.

If anybody saw the Plot Against America and saw Ryder in that they will see she is a mediocre actress or became terrible as she got older.

Taylor-Joy, the show, the writers, the creators- Scott Frank and Allan Scott to the original book writer- Walter Tevis, simply jaw dropping

Apart from achieving movie star status with great charisma as Captain Marvel, Larson has demonstrated great acting ability in Room and Short Term 12. Along with amassing (at age 30) a long list of credits in roles that range from comedy to action to drama.

Short Term 12 is where i discovered her. total blind buy and she blew me away as did the movie, she has been good ever since and i'm not that high on her in the Marvel movies as she was ok at best, but her indie stuff has been stellar.
