Which of these movies is the most bizarre/far out there?

From Beyond
Street Trash
Society
The Brood

my personal opinion, I think Society is the most bizarre movie tied with From Beyond

Re: Which of these movies is the most bizarre/far out there?

Society is pretty damned out there.

Can we list some of our own?

Being John Malkovich
Wristcutters: A Love Story
Wired (1989)
Meet the Hollowheads
Dr. Caligari (1989)
Eraserhead
(oh hell, every David Lynch movie)

I'm sure there are others, but it's too early in the morning.

Only the 4 movies that i listed.

Those 4 movies that I listed are the ones that are pretty bizarre/trippy/far out there with the story etc

I haven't seen those four (I know, I know...), but I saw a trailer for Street Trash recently and I think I need to seek that one out sooner than later. Looks awesome.

Fine.

From Beyond, then.

Should've made it a poll if it's just those four.

Somehow I imagine that the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld made it to DVDTalk.

Good idea squashing any sort of ongoing discussion on a discussion board.

And to answer your question I choose:
Eraserhead

I've only seen one of the movies in the Approved List. Since we can't talk about others, I guess I'm done with this thread.

I like all of the films on the OP's list, but if you asked me to make a list of the most bizarre/far out there movies, I'm not sure if they would even be on my list.

I haven't seen any of those four movies. So I choose Un Chien Andalou.

I've only seen The Brood and while it was strange i wouldn't think it was Bizarre or out there, just another Doctor does weird experiments on a mum movie. Reed was good in it though

OP: *clearly asks which of these movies is most bizarre, and provides a list of four to choose from*

DVDTalk: bUt WhAt AbOuT alL oF tHeSe OtHeR mOvIeS!?!?

It wouldn't be DVDTalk otherwise.

^ Considering this is a movie DISCUSSION board should the point of starting a new thread be to have a discussion? If posters strictly followed the OP’s rules, there would be a whopping 2 replies. Neither of which offers much to continue a conversation on.

I guess a thread that dies a quick death is cool too.

It's entirely possible to:

1) Have a discussion around those four specific movies, assuming there's enough people who have seen them and want to talk about them out of the barely 100 people on this forum, or

2) Start a "What are the most bizarre/far out movies you've ever seen?" thread for a more generic discussion where people list off a bunch of movies without any explanation.

It's ok for some threads to have a limited scope sometimes.

Especially if you want the thread to A) die quickly, or B) spiral briefly out-of-control, then die quickly.

From Beyond probably has the most WTF moments, but Society was the most disturbing to me.

Great soundtrack. Lots of cool trance and electronic beats.

Wasn't there a guy here monikered Soup Nazi? Regular poster in the old days, too.

Kurt D., good to see you.

Of those on the list, I choose Street Trash. I don't remember enough about From Beyond or Society, and The Brood I wouldn't consider all that bizarre.

Nothing tops (or sinks below) The Greasy Strangler for sheer cinematic bizarreness.
