Iron Mask (2020) -- S: Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Iron Mask - Premiering on Digital and On Demand November 20th, and on Blu-Ray and DVD November 24th!
Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger For the first time ever, screen legends Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan face off against each other in battle in this epic fantasy-adventure! In order to save his homeland from certain doom, a kung fu master (Chan) must escape from the maniacal James Hook (Schwarzenegger) in order to send his daughter a secret talisman that will allow her to control a massive and mythical dragon. This larger-than-life, globe-trotting tale – ranging from the impenetrable Tower of London to the fabled Silk Road and China’s Great Wall – also stars Rutger Hauer in one of the screen icon’s final performances.

I have the Blu Ray that came out in June and it's not a terrible movie but its nothing great. Its like alot of Chans recent Chinese output. My daughter really got a kick out of it.

Am I correct in asuming the extent of Chans and Schwarzeneggers scenes are shown in the trailer?

Most of the 52 user reviews on IMDB are quite negative.

Someone posted the trailer for this in the Asian cinema thread back in February – the reviews were mostly bad back then, too. Just goes to show that western companies will release anything as long as there some 'name value' that can be slapped on a poster, even it the 'names' are has-beens and/or, in Chan's case, grotesque hypocrites.
For what it's worth (repeating), it's a bad sequel to an almost-as-bad original, both from Russia and starring Jason Flemyng, with Arnold and Jackie whoring for easy money in extended cameos despite what some reviewers claim (an earlier trailer made it look like a Jackie/Arnie movie). The first one was apparently a big smash domestically, so much like their Hollywood counterparts the filmmakers decided the next logical step was to bend over for Mainland Chinese money, and all of the garish expectations that came with it.
In the other thread, I noted that Uwe Boll was an executive producer on the original. Didn't realize until now that he's also a producer on this one. For what that's worth.
The earlier trailer claimed "from the producers of KILL BILL" – I never could figure out who they might be, and IMDb listed no shared producer credits. The new trailer posted above claims it's "from the producers of MACHETE KILLS and SIN CITY 2 (what a pedigree!)", a couple of whom can be connected to this one.

Wow, I couldn't even be bothered to finish the trailer. This looks awful. 25 years ago I would have killed to see Arnie and Jackie in a film together.

I'll rent it on Red Box eventually (no rush at all) just to see how awful this is.

Just caught this movie on Vudu. It's only $10 for UHD, so I figured I give it a shot.
It's very pretty to look at. Lots of cool scenery. But the rest is a mess. The story is ridiculously confusing. The dialogue sounds like it was written by a 3rd grader. And the dubbing is awful. The fight scenes aren't even that good.
It's ok if you can completely turn your brain off. It would be a lot of fun if you were stoned. Just sit back and soak in the cool visuals.
And I'm sure young kids would probably enjoy it. Although I doubt they'd understand the plot. But they can tell the good guys from the bad guys. And there's a cute flying bat-monkey thing.

I rented this from Red Box last night using a free rental and watched it today. I'll echo Dave's sentiment, it's nice to look at, but it's pretty awful. I have no idea what the hell this was about. It reminded me a lot of those goofy Chinese Wuxia fantasy movies from the 80s and 90s. I hated those kind of movies from HK. Jackie and Arnold have very small supporting roles. They had maybe 10-15 minutes of screen time total. And this is a Chinese/Russian production. And yeah there's a lot of noticeable bad dubbing. Pretty obvious they signed Arnold and Jackie to this for international marketing purposes. Otherwise, who the hell would watch this? I don't think you could see this movie in Asia without them.
I'll give this a D. It would get an F if it wasn't at least nice to look at, but a lot of that was green screen/CG.

Honestly as much as there were some cringy moments, mainly bad dubbing, and poor acting from the likes of Schwarzenegger and to an extent Chan, I can't say I was bored mainly for how bizarre the movie was at times. I think if you cut this down by 20-30 minutes, would be okay for the family given the humor involved. IDK, it was inoffensive as a whole. **½/*****

Had this in my Netflix queue and watched it last night. Pretty sure Arnie and Jackie filmed all their scenes in one day and then had time to go to the bank to cash the large check afterwards. Visually nice, written for a Chinese movie going audience and probably intended to be watched in 3D. It's a one time watch and then move to the next one on the list.
