Apparently he had been having health issues for a while. He looks terrible in the 2019 clip.

They were a cool band. Desolation Boulevard was a regular occupant of my CD player after college when I discovered them in the early 90's.

I really love The Sweet. Sure I got drawn in by Fox on the Run and Ballroom Blitz, but as I went deeper into their catalog, I liked them even more. Wig Wam Bam, one of the dumbest songs ever recorded, is just a damn good time. RIP, Steve.

Not a fan but Love is Like Oxygen is one of my favorite songs. Bought greatest hits cd just for it. Brings back memories of summer'78 when the song was in heavy rotation with Wheel in The Sky, Life's Been Good and Hot Blooded on FM radio.

Sweet was a great band. Starting off as a bubblegum Power Pop band (and a really good one at that), and morphing into something heavier and more substantial - but still melodic and dynamic - Sweet was groundbreaking.
And Priest was a big part of that.
