Re: New Beach Boys song!
Are you joking using the word "classic" over and over?
I don't like to threadcrap but that is terrible. And this is coming from a BB fan that owns their entire catalog.

I'm not much of a BB fan, but that was absolutely horrible.
Everything about it sounds like it was created by a news channel trying to raise money for charity or something - amateur all the way.

More like an SNL skit than a song. That was embarrassing.

Remember all the times Mike Love tried saying he was an equal to Brian Wilson when it came to writing Beach Boys songs, that it was a collaboration. Yeah. Looks like even Bruce Johnston had the good sense to pass.

Jesus tap dancing Christ on a bicycle.
Remember that episode of the Simpson’s where Apu and his wife had like a dozen kids and to help expenses they let that carnie put the babies in that horrifically cringey stage show?
I would watch three hours of that before I listened to that song again.

Rereading Boba's initial post...he had to have been sarcastic. Especially when I reread that "Classic Stamos" line.
Due to the current political and pandemic situation, my sarcasm meter has been busted and I was tired last night. It had to be sarcastic. Had. To. Be.
Please.

Re: New Beach Boys song!
That’s pretty bad. But it’s a lot better than what I just heard in the Dixie Chicks thread. I didn’t even want to bash that trio and do them the favor of being bumped to the top.

Wow, this makes Kokomo sound like a Lennon/McCartney composition.
Mike Love has no shame. He really needs to stop fucking the corpse of the Beach Boys.

Done. I'm not a fan of the Dixie Chicks music at all. It's just not the type of music I listen to. But I heard that song a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty catchy. And shared it with my niece because she loves them. There is no way in hell this song is worse than that Mike Love track.

Yeah, the Dixie Chicks song doesn't do a lot for me - but it's worlds better than this Beach Boys song.

Re: New Beach Boys song!
Imagine arguing that their aged, Botoxed, bleached, fried appearance shouldn’t be commented upon. Next you’ll tell me it’s in bad taste to point out how fat and burned out Brian Wilson was in 1975. Fuck that. There’s nothing wrong with making observations.

You're right, it was an innocuous "observation". Not a mean spirited insult that says more about you than it does about them.
