Why does deleting a post take so long?
I've noticed this for a while now, but whenever I delete a post I made (that I decided wasn't worthwhile), once I hit the "delete this message" button, it takes FOREVER for it to actually do it. The progress spinner just spins and spins and spins ... I just timed it, and it took over 60 seconds before it finally finished and took me to the first post of the topic (which itself seems weird ... why the first post? Seems the last would make more sense).
not a big deal, just curious

It’s more of an issue when you delete a post in a BIG thread. Deleting a post triggers the forum into doing something resource-heavy (maybe completely recompiling terms for the forum search?), which is zippy in a small thread but drags for ones with tens of thousands of posts.
