PANDORA is executive produced by Mark A. Altman (“Castle,” “The Librarians”), Steve Kriozere (“NCIS,” “Necessary Roughness”), Thomas P. Vitale, Karine Martin, and Chris Philip and produced by Radioactive Fishtank, Vital Signs Entertainment and Starlings Television.

This is a low budget sci-fi series that was filmed in Bulgaria. The CW picked up the rights to this. 2 of the creators worked on Castle.

This forum has been very dead this summer, so not expecting much activity on this thread.

I'll give it a try. Directv isn't carrying The CW (in my area, at least). I prefer to record and watch at my leisure,
but I guess I'll have to stream these fairly soon... along with The Outpost and the rest of The 100.

I watched it "live' - It was okay, but I don't want to commit to another serialized show. It's kind or a "Starfleet Academy meets Guardians of the Galaxy" thing. I probably would have liked it better when I was younger and had more free time. Note:Oliver Dench is Judi Dench's great nephew.

More of a sci-fi feel than I expected from the CW. A couple of familiar faces in the cast if you watch a lot of television. Not bad, but not really good either. It feels like a program that may have run on SyFy ten years ago.

This is going to come down to how you feel about the lead cast members, especially the younger male and female leads.

I stumbled across this yesterday through On Demand. It’s terrible but strangely intriguing. Everything is forced, rushed, and inconsistent. It’s like they are trying to create the group dynamic of the Magicians by flipping a switch. It’s something I might continue to watch to see how bad it gets. It might be relaxing experiment.

This isn't a very strong series and likely won't last long.
Watched the 3rd episode tonight and it was terrible.
I'll try one more episode and if it doesn't improve, I'll dump it.

Yeah, I gave it two episodes and saw nothing to make me stick around.

Re: Pandora (CW) -- Sci-Fi action series -- Premieres 7/16/19

I've watched all the episodes to date and it's a nice summer filler but I don't see it back next summer. The action scenes are sparse and not well done. I'm waiting to see what the other world guy is up to. He appears to be a double agent for his race so there's promise. The last episode saw a character killed off.

Re: Pandora (CW) -- Sci-Fi action series -- Premieres 7/16/19

I agree with others in this thread that the show is straight up bad, and If people say they could see better acting at their local community theater, well...they are not kidding, but holy cow I find myself enjoying this show as the dumb wanna be quality science fiction show that it is.

I can appreciate one and dones that run in the summer, but there is something to be said for summer shows that get picked up because Blood & Treasure is a surprisingly good show, not just fun to watch but a quality piece of summer entertainment. That show also has its own thread so no need to say more in this thread, but yes...Pandora is a nice fluff summer show.

Watched the trailer when it released and decided to pass on it. Didn't seem up to snuff.

Judging by comments here, I made the correct decision.

This makes the Outpost Emmy-worthy. 3 episodes in and they've stolen/borrowed a ship each time to go off-planet for who knows how long. And just some really odd writing. Cyber-girl showing up in our heroines room at the beginning was jarring. The start/stop relationships jarring. Plot/not-plot jarring.

This show reminds me of 90’s syndicated tv shows. There is nothing good about it but I find it strangely fascinating to see it break ever rule of good storytelling.

The Outpost has decent plotting and writing - its primary weakness mostly lies in the sub-par acting from a couple of the leads.

The constant stealing of a ship with what, a FTL drive each episode is just hilarious. To go from San Francisco to Burbank Airport I would need to spend 30m to get to the airport, arrive at said airport at least 1 hour early, go through security, take off my shoes, and belt, made sure I went on-line to check-in to get a boarding pass number that had me boarding in one of the first two groups called, once seated on the plane you then have to hope that there are no delays and you can take off on time. Oh yeah, add more time if you have luggage to check. Finally, you actually get off the ground and fly to your destination, yeesh.

On this show I can fly to another planet on a stolen ship by simply distracting the guard at the front desk of the hanger. Not to mention there are no consequences for stealing the ship for a galactic joy ride. Not even police waiting for them after they land back on Earth and exit the ship. Yeah....so you are wondering why I still watch, like I said it is a dumb but fun enough show to watch during the summer.

I'm on episode 5 of season 2.
The series to me has a sort of 1990s early 2000s teen series with a bunch of questions and mysteries.
Season 2 Episode 3 has towards the latter half of the episode a segment with a very Twin Peaks feel to it.

When did season 2 get released? I haven’t even heard it announced yet.

It premiered October 4th. The CW barely promoted it as this is a cheap import.

Resurrecting an older topic. I am watching Pandora on Amazon Prime. The above describes why I don't like this show. I can suspend disbelief about faster than light travel or the existence of aliens, but not about things that these people get away with. In one episode, a character disobeys orders and two cadets are killed. But there are no repercussions for him. He should have faced a court martial and been sent to prison.

I may continue watching, just as something to watch while I exercise on the treadmill, but my eye-rolling muscles will be getting a workout as well.

They would have had to establish that no one cares or why it's not a big deal. When a show goes against it's own rules is when things get odd.

That have not said the source, and there is literally nothing else out on the Internet claiming a third season is happening besides them. CW does not air it, which will literally air any garbage, I don't know what US broadcaster is going to pick it up when it was getting 0.0s.

For all intent and purposes, CW cancelling it means whatever production company Pandora was made by, needs to find a partner to finance it, otherwise it's dead. This is similar to LA Complex.
