The six-part limited drama series YEARS AND YEARS debuts MONDAY, JUNE 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. YEARS AND YEARS follows the members of one family as their complex lives converge on one crucial night in 2019, when Britain is rocked by political, economic and technological advances. Rory Kinnear, Russell Tovey, Jessica Hynes, Ruth Madeley and Anne Reid star, along with Emma Thompson, who plays an outspoken celebrity turned political figure whose controversial opinions divide the nation.

Sorry, but I feel like RTD needs to be called out on this. Maybe the concept is in response to the political climate in the UK, but that trailer looks like a rehash of several New Dr Who stories. Look at S1 “The Aliens of London” and the Master storyline from S3. Blend those together with a dash of “real world people” = Years and Years.

He has said he's wanted to write this for 20 years. Assuming that is true, it would seem he worked in similar themes to DW. Even the Vivienne Rook is reused.

Just finished watching episode #2. What a great great mini-series. Can't wait to see how this plays out. I hadn't even heard about it until they ran an ad for it before the last episode of "Big Little Lies". I was intrigued so I tuned in. It's definitely one of 2019's best.

Just binged this. Apparently fell through the cracks for me and this forum.
