The highly-anticipated supernatural horror series NOS4A2 will premiere on Sunday, June 2 at 10:00pm ET/9: 00pm CT. In addition, subscribers to AMC Premiere, AMC's premium upgrade option, will have an opportunity to binge the entire season of 10 episodes beginning Sunday, June 2.
Based on Joe Hill's 2013 best-selling novel of the same name, NOS4A2 follows Vic McQueen, played by Ashleigh Cummings (The Goldfinch), a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx, played by Emmy(R)-nominee Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, American Horror Story). Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland - a twisted place of Manx's imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims - without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.

I haven’t read any Joe Hill novels, but love his comics. This appears to be either connected to or based on Wraith: Welcome to Christmasland, which was excellent.

His books have loose connections, just like King’s does. They are also connecting their own worlds to each other’s in little Easter egg ways. If you pause the first episode when Manx looks at the map you’ll see it, and afaik it was identical to the book. The Treehouse of the Mind is from Horns, and of course there was the Lovecraft Portkey on it, referencing Locke & Key. I think the map also references Heart-Shaped Box (it does in the book, at least) but I can’t remember the specifics of that. Been too long.

I don't remember much of the book other than I liked it. I liked the first episode here as well. I'm in for the season.

This was a solid beginning even if the premise didn't immediately grab me. Pretty clearly a show driven by female protagonists, which all too often leads down very predictable paths. I'll stick around for the moment.

I finished all 10 episodes and I think this would have worked better as a limited series instead of dragging it on. I read the book and loved it but the show dosent have that same tight creepy feel it did. the cast were good picks and Quinto was my favorite part of the show.

AMC is pissing me off. I missed the premiere, it appears Ep 1 wont repeat for the next X weeks that my DVR can see, I got ep 2 and onward but the On-demand version of Episode 1 is gone now from Comcast. No way I am paying for Shudder.... Way to alienate viewers from a new series. 
I enjoyed the book too but I'm not paying to watch this show when I have no idea if its good or not. [/rant]

I really expected to like this & subscribed to AMC Premiere just to binge. But I just stated Ep 5 & don't think I can make it much further. I remember liking the book somewhat, but the show is just so.....dull. If feels like the story could have been contained in a one hour anthology but they've stretched it out to 10 hrs or something. I think I'm out for this show & for AMC Premiere (which is surprisingly lame for a paid service).
