Limerick singer and Cranberries front woman Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London at the age of 46.

Her publicist confirmed the news in a statement which read: "The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.

"Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

Shocked to hear that

Wow, I remember they canceled dates last year because of a health issue she was having, but I never heard what it was (something related to her back, I think). Sad.

I remember MTV playing the hell out of "Dreams," "Linger," and "Zombie," back in the 90s.

I'm sorry to hear another Grunge era singer is gone, but the Cranberries will always stick with me for a very awful reason. Around 7th or 8th grade(1994-1996), kids in my grade would sing "zombie" towards me in the halls. I never did anything to anyone, I was just the skinny tall shy kid. That kind of shit scars you, I still think about it to this day.

I always liked her stuff. Saw the Cranberries once at a KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show and thought they were great live.

Wow... Yet Shane MacGowan is still alive somehow.

Per TMZ: Dolores tried taking her life by OD'ing back in 2013, saying she had suffered from depression and ultimately a mental breakdown. She was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Dolores said she believed some of her emotional problems emanated from being abused as a child.

I played their debut album to death, even to the point of no longer liking it very much. A few of their subsequent songs were OK, but I never bought another of their albums after their debut. Having said that, what sad news this is. She was far too young.

You know what? That sucks. Sincerely. I went through the same thing in junior high, but I won't repeat the word that was used on me. It absolutely scars you and I wouldn't wish the experience on any child.

Sad news, really. Their first cd was played a lot when I was just meeting my wife in college and I saw them live with Toad the Wet Sprocket and I recall it being a great show.

Awful to hear, even I didn't listen to them very often, I still couldn't bring myself to get rid of the CDs.

Now she's dead, I hope she doesn't turn into a zombie.

Don't really get this. Why would they sing this at you? There was plenty of tall skinny kids in my school and I dont recall people singing at them. Wtf??

I was never a huge fan, but I did like a handful of their songs. Now that I'm 40, it hits close to home seeing someone only a few years older than me passing away.

You guys really enjoy the taste of low-hanging fruit.

I only know the hits. But they had a great sound in the 90's that still feels right today. Pretty great music. It lasts forever.

Not sure the cause of death. Being famous is hard on the body. The drugs, stress, and pressure take a toll.

Kids can be terrible.
