Sully Erna's follow up to Avalon is right around the corner and I can't wait. Avalon* is probably one of my favorite albums of the last decade. It's been six years and I had resigned myself to the fact we wouldn't get another solo effort.


*if you have somehow missed his first solo effort, quit reading and go buy it now. Has a 5* rating on Amazon with 167 reviews. Disclaimer, it's nothing like Godsmack (which is the source of a handful of the negative reviews).

I think he did some country stuff on this album

I've listened to it a dozen times already and love it. Not quite as much as the first, but there is definitely more variety...however I wouldn't label any track country.

AXS TV had a doc or you can watch on the streamers about his life.

Worth a watch if you are a fan.

I believe he said he was working on a third album, but that was a few years ago, maybe during Covid? I think he switched gears for Godsmack's last album/tour but I'm ready for him to get back to it.

I had not listened to their stuff in awhile but will get out my CDs.

They were one of the better bands of that era in the early aughts.

I had no idea Sully was in a lot of hair bands and struggling before he hit it big with Godsmack.
