Bon Jovi By Numbers. Aside from the Country detour, everything from last 15 years sounds exactly the same. I'm more excited to hear Sambora's album with Orianthi.

Sure sounds like country music to me. Add a little twang and ditch the "coming home" rock chorus, and it's cookie cutter Nashville schlock.

Bon Jovi hasn't been Bon Jovi for almost three decades now. Even when they popped out a couple hits like "It's My Life" or "Have A Nice Day" they've been on albums that suck otherwise. Watching this video is almost a joke. Nobody is left. It's him and Bryan on keyboards and Torres on drums. Now they are finally showing Hugh after all these years and Richie's replacement just because they have to for it to be "a band".
The problem is, Jon just wants to be Bruce Springsteen and write those Jersey songs, however he doesn't have the chops or writing talent to do it. Their "New Jersey" album was a great swan song. I will give them that.

From what I heard, there are 4 different versions of the DirecTV song recorded. And, each one is available through a different source (Target, Best Buy, iTunes, etc.).

That's not a bad song. It's not great, but not bad.

The album should be under the JON Bon Jovi name, though, since Sambora isn't in the band anymore.

But it doesn't really matter, I guess. Ronnie James Dio used the DIO band name with multiple different line-ups, so there is precedent.

The What About Now album was very weak, so it's not just a matter of Sambora leaving. They have just lost it. Even before that they had basically has become a singles band. Albums with a couple great songs and tons of filler.

Like any of these things depends on who is asked. Some of the stated/speculated reasons: Sambora wanted to spend more time with teenage daughter, Sobriety issues, Change in musical direction. But it appears there is no real animosity, so maybe he'll make his way back at some point.
