The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 director's cut

Since the rights now reverted back to marvel I was thinking that Sony abd marvel should release a directors cut of the two films since the cast abd crew deserve it.

Re: TASM 1 and 2 directors cut

You're assuming that there is a director's cut and that Webb wasn't happy with what ended up in theaters. I don't know if that's the case.

The rights didn't revert back. TASM2 had the same problem that Spider-man 3 had: Studio interference out the arse.

Re: TASM 1 and 2 directors cut

Since Marvel apparently wants Peter Parker recast, I think that means they are trying to distance themselves as much as possible from the Amazing movies. So there is pretty much no chance of an extended cut. I don't think more scenes would even help ASM2 anyway. It was poorly designed from the start.

I think ASM1 could have been better with some of the stuff that was cut. Dunno if the BD had the scenes or not. Some looked pretty good. Specifically the Lizard related ones

I believe it would have. Also marvel was gonna re set garfield anyway since they always wanted Peter in highschool again.

TASM2 Director's cut would be the studio logo followed by the credits.

I'd rather see them release the Japanese Spider-Man instead.

I'm partial to Italian Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 wasn't long enough?

The thread title is definitely deceiving. How do we even know longer cuts even exist? Unless we're assuming they will do that shit with those unapproved Unrated cuts that did on DVD several years ago with The Patriot, Tears in the Sun and Donnie Brasco where they just re-inserted deleted scenes.

Looking forward to a director's cut of Citizen Kane.

Helpful for the stories and characters.

I was just going to chime in and say a "director's cut" of the second movie would actually edit stuff OUT.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 director's cut

I don't know about the second movie (although it looks like Garfield has blamed the studio for cuts affecting part 2), but it's been heavily rumored with a lot of evidence about how the studio cut up Amazing Spider-Man prior to it's release.
